not long ago Middlesbrough were struggling in this division. they had loads of youngsters coming through and were in a similar position to where we find ourselves in the league now, their underlying stats were always fairly decent though and as the players got more experienced and they added one or two good players they now find themselves in the position to be able to make a push for promotion.

Connolly is never a Premier League footballer anyway. Championship is about right for him.
