Labour are the largest party therefore have the right to have the FM post.
Policy implementation will be on a case by case basis.
isn't the role of first minister the one who has the support of the majority of the legislature? it's how 2nd and 3rd placed parties can form a coalition government.

By the way, thanks for hi-lighting the typo (sic). I will remember that. we all make mistakes - - eventually.
Have a good night.
My pleasure.
As for the rest of your post I have no idea what you're trying to say.
Enjoy your evening

I forgot democracy was ensuring the same guy stayed in power without offering an alternative.
So really this is anti-Labour and Carwyn Jones remaining in power?
Perhaps the other parties should look at themselves and ask why they all failed miserably to unseat the ruling party.
I think Plaid in particular are sticking two fingers up to the electorate and sulking because we did not vote for them in sufficient numbers. A bit embarrassing for the self-styled "Party of Wales."

And perhaps labour should do the same thing for not getting the majority they have come to think of as their divine right in Wales.
And the wider labour party might learn the same lesson in England and Scotland

It's providing an alternative, ffs how many time do we have to tell you.
Labour don't have a majority, two parties entered for fm, and they drew. 57% of people voted for a party that voted for Leanne wood, 43% voted for one that didn't. Take that how you will.
Whether you like it or not, that's how it is. Stop crying about it ffs

On that basis then perhaps Plaid should try for a coalition with their new best mates in the Conservative Party and UKIP.
Judging by the respective manifestos that should go swimmingly well.

If they wanted to do it, then they could. Why is it so hard to understand?

On the basis that they would be rather strange bedfellows and the fact that Leanne Wood categorically ruled out any deals with the Tories and UKIP. Watch the television debates if you don't believe me.
Looks like it's all about power for Ms. Wood, certainly above any principles she may hold.

Which means they probably won't be doing a deal then, doesn't it.

The posters on here who form "Team Carwyn" appear a little less than pleased with today's events. Ah, well, the look on his face when the result was announced was priceless.
Let's have a good old coalition running the WG, it cannot possibly be any worse than the previous incumbents.

You would have been livid if Gordon Brown did a deal with other parties in 2010 at Westminster to keep the Tories out.

The issue is Plaid clearly have no interest in a coalition with UKIP and the Tories. The only viable government is Labour led. It's just Plaid getting upset they weren't given more input on Labour's plans before the vote.

Seems it's labour getting upset that the others didn't vote for them. Maybe labour will learn a lesson this time

Why do they need to learn a lesson? They are by far the largest party. It's up to the other parties to appeal to the Welsh public more
-
Re: Interesting goings-on down the Bay at the moment...
I'm no expert on politics but anything that makes labour realise that they don't have an automatic right to stroll into power in Wales can only be a good thing.

That could've been the case...if the Tories had refused to go into any kind of coalition with anyone. As it happened they formed a coalition government with the Lib-dems.
Labour today refused to even take Leanne Wood's advice of 'pausing for a week to have further discussions on this', and so have ended up in the mess they're currently in.

They need the backing of another party that isn't LD to pass a budget. its up to them to get that backing, not the other parties. Now that they've made this attack on plaid about being with ukip and tories, plaid are the only party they can get backing from without being seen as hypocrites. Not such a cheap date now eh. Great move by plaid

The alternative is that they go it alone and look to pass legislation on a vote by vote basis thereby putting the pressure on Plaid to back them. Plaid are not remotely similar in political outlook to UKIP?

Hmm. Why was she in talks with UKIP two days ago? None of you on here know precisely why Labour and Plaid could not reach agreement.
