FA Cup 3rd round thread
Jack Butland, oh dear.
I take it this guy has reduced Wayne Hennessy to third choice at Palace ?

Re: Jack Butland, oh dear.
Unless I'm mistaken doesn't Hennessy play for Burnley these days.

Re: Jack Butland, oh dear.
What a cock up. Goalkeepers are generally in goals for a reason. (And I say that as an ex goalkeeper!)

Didn’t know that, but the point remains, do Palace think they’re better off with Butland as their back up keeper? He was an accident waiting to happen at Stoke.

Re: Jack Butland, oh dear.
Beginning of the second half and Scott Malone is getting absolutely slaughtered by Olise. Turned him inside out and scored. 5 mins later did it again but hit the post and now did him for a third time and just about shaved about shaved the bar.

Olise just made Palace’s second, Scott Malone nowhere to be seen for this one.

He does indeed. I read he’s done well over the past couple of games.

Re: Jack Butland, oh dear.
Assume the OP is referring to the first Millwall goal.
Not been watching much of the game but saw the goal which came about from his short pass to the defender and I thought the defender was at fault to be honest.
It could be argued that better for JB to have launched it, though keepers these days are encouraged to stretch the opposition by playing it from the back.
The defender trying some kind of Cruyff turn on the edge of his pelanty area was just plain daft.

Re: FA Cup 3rd round thread
FT: Burnley 1 - 2 Huddersfield
Hennessy was on the bench as Premier League Burnley knocked out.
FT: Hartlepool 2 - 1 Blackpool
Another shock as League 2 beats Championship
FT: Coventry 1 - 0 Derby
This could have a bearing on us. If we get knocked out tomorrow and Barnsley go through we could re-arrange the Cardiff v Derby game for Feb 5th (4th round weekend). If both us and Barnsley get knocked out we will play our scheduled game at Oakwell.
FT: Bristol City 0 - 0 Fulham
Game gone into extra time
FT: Mansfield 2 - 3 Middlesbrough
Boro won with a 95th min o.g.
FT: Millwall 1 - 2 Crystal Palace
Premier League side go through.

Re: FA Cup 3rd round thread
Sorba Thomas with both assists for Huddersfield

Re: FA Cup 3rd round thread
Harry Wilson puts Fulham ahead at Ashton Gate

52,000 sell out for Newcastle v Cambridge with 5,000 visiting fans.
Cheap tickets would have helped but that's impressive

It was really, a fair bit of Keystone Kops defending by Newcastle went on after the ‘offside’ in question.

Re: FA Cup 3rd round thread

Re: FA Cup 3rd round thread
5 minutes added on at St James Park, the 5000 Cambridge fans must be on the edge of their seats and the 47000 Geordies must feel like chucking theirs.

Re: FA Cup 3rd round thread
Boreham Wood 2 - 0 AFW Wimbledon
Kidderminster 2 - 1 Reading

Also Barnsley 3 - 3 Barrow still playing (we are due to play Barnsley on 4th round day)
