I know people who live in Tokyo, and none of them talk about how affordable it is to buy. Quite the opposite, they rent cupboards.

That's because A) it's Tokyo B) they are a large population on a small land mass. Bit like the UK, The difference being, their politicians put their own population 1st instead of inviting the third world who would only inflate house prices further, as we are seeing in the UK. Adjusted for inflation their jouse prices have been stable since 1997

That maybe the case but Japanese culture is very complicated and its conservative policies all round have their positives and negatives.
