Huge applause from me for that. Be great if other clubs could follow suit, or businesses etc.

Doesn’t seem to take a million staff either.
They could do this all over (not that we should ****ing need it everyone, who wants one*, should have a place to live)
Re: Well done Crystal Palace (opening their ground for the homeless)
Good on them. Really is a waste of land space having so many football stadiums, but as they are there and empty the majority of the time this is exactly the sort of use they should be put too. Hopefully they shame others into doing so.
Re: Well done Crystal Palace (opening their ground for the homeless)
Daily Mail headline:
"unemployed Londoners given Palace to live in"
Re: Well done Crystal Palace (opening their ground for the homeless)
“Selhurst Park, has been be turned into a temporary overnight shelter for up to 10 rough sleepers during extreme weather.“
Surely they can fit more in than that.

It’s a lounge with 10 beds in, **** knows how big the lounge is but maybe they don’t want to cram people in, or maybe it’s a staff issue as they only have 2 that stay overnight?
I did clock the number when I read it though and was curious.

These people have shelters they can go to but some prefer not to because they are crammed in on floor space and level of anti social behaviour is high.
Probably right to keep it somewhat limited.

I know someone who volunteers in Cardiff, collects socks etc to hand out. They said many of them avoid the hostels due to drugs and violence. Many of them not wanting to become drug addicts just because they’re on the streets.

Bit behind the times aren't they.
Swansea do this every other Saturday at 3pm.

It was the homeless not the hopeless:thumbup:
Re: Well done Crystal Palace (opening their ground for the homeless)
Maybe we should do this the same day we play our FA Cup game? Could get the crowd over 5k.

Theres some great stuff going on at about 40 clubs around helping homeless, feeding others .
