Barca were getting pressed on the edge of their own 6 yard box

Messi’s last Barcelona game perhaps:shrug:

Well, that was a boring 90 minutes.

Gave up after 20 mins.

Not a surprise, well still a surprise but looked at the teams before kick off and that s such a poor barca team.
Re: FT: Barcelona 2 - 8 Bayern Munich (EIGHT)
Semedo's performance was exceptionally poor, stay well clear of him Neil!

Good thing they've decided to replace 24 year old Arthur with 30 year old Pjanic
Re: FT: Barcelona 2 - 8 Bayern Munich (EIGHT)
Did you see how empty the stadium was by the end?
Re: FT: Barcelona 2 - 8 Bayern Munich (EIGHT)
If this was 12-4 I don’t think anyone could have complained.
A ridiculous game and one I’ll remember for many years.

Barcelona could well have been ahead after ten minutes, perhaps 3-1, they had some decent chances before crumbling.
Re: FT: Barcelona 2 - 8 Bayern Munich (EIGHT)
As soon as Arturo Vidal declared Barcelona to be “the best team in the world”, I thought that Karma would have the last say...

They’ve tried replacing with younger players and it hasn’t worked. Greizmann Dembele and countinho all flops for some reason.
Their shape was weird also and couldn’t even work a 4-4-2

City would be mad to accept unless Messi coming here is part of the deal :ayatollah:

I think they’d give Bayern hell of a tough task. Let’s be honest, I’ve never seen a Barca team look so poor and worse, unbothered

You reckon? They may beat Man City (Man City may beat them if they get past Lyon) but ‘murder them’? C’mon, Man City are a completely different kettle of fish to this lacklustre Barcelona side, they’ve done the double on a Real Madrid side that finished five points ahead of Barcelona. Bayern are a marvellous side but they won’t be sticking 8 on anyone else soon at this standard. It was a freak result last night, same as Germany battering Brazil a few years ago, results like these are very rare at this level that’s why they’re such a shock. If Man City get through you can bet your bollocks that Guardiola will have done his thorough homework on Bayern, they still have to get past Lyon yet though.

In the CL this season, Bayern have played five games against spurs, Chelsea and Barca, and have averaged five goals a game.
Not sure this was a freak result. 7-2 away to spurs was one of them.

It was the biggest victory by any club in a single Champions League knock out stage game, headlines are stating ‘Bayern Create History’..... I’d call that a freak result. This time yesterday if anyone had forecast an 8-2 Bayern win later that day, I’d imagine most would have dismissed it as very, very unlikely and that that would be a freak result.

I don't think because it's historic that it's freak. Bayern have been thrashing teams all season in Europe. They'd scored 17 past spurs and Chelsea. This their goalscoring record compared to the all-time highs, in far fewer games:
45 Barcelona, 1999/2000 (16 matches)
41 Real Madrid, 2013/14 (13)
41 Liverpool, 2017/18 (13)
39 Bayern, 2019/20 (9)
36 Real Madrid, 2016/17 (13)
9 wins out of 9, and the record is 10.
Goals per game ratio over one goal clear of the next highest ever.
4.33 Bayern, 2019/20
3.15 Real Madrid, 2013/14
3.15 Liverpool, 2017/18
2.92 Barcelona, 2011/12
2.92 Real Madrid, 2011/12
