He's done such a great job of "implementing the governing body's 'Project Brave' player development strategy" since 2016, the standard of Scottish football has increased so much in that time. A job as coach of Dundee United is the least he deserves.

In fairness, it will be a few more years yet to see if that strategy is ultimately successful. Thinking back to John Toshack's stint as Welsh manager, we never had the results and history will look back on his time as a damp squib, yet it was an era that planted seeds that Gary Speed and Chris Coleman both benefitted from.

The other thing is, your pool is limited at international level. It's amazing that there is such hostility towards Mackay, and the history books have certainly been rewritten since he left. I don't condone the messages he sent, but I feel everyone deserves a second chance in life. Good luck to him and to Dundee United.
