104-8 another poor batting effort I'm afraid, but the authorities tend to take a dim view of pitches on which spinners take as many early wickets as they have in this game and so I wouldn't be surprised to see Northants docked points when the game finishes.
Yep when a rookie spinner has such a dramatic effect on day one then there has to be a big concern about the state of the pitch. Clearly Northants have to be questioned here. Sadly this is going to be another defeat.
Given Northants are 168/2 in their second innings it does not appear that there are too many demons to this pitch. Another rank bad day. Glad to see the back of the season.
It's just disappointing. Northants will now finish above us I reckon so it's a race to finish bottom with Derbyshire. We do have some good youngsters but they are going to be inconsistent which is fair enough. The more senior players are not leading by example though.
If you are going next week I hope the Sun shines and they play better cricket than this.
Glammy "chasing" 450 to win young Carlson didn't take any wickets in their second innings but he did run out Keough (sp) their newly turned wonder spin bowler, who opened the bowling for them in our second innings,0-0 so far.
Now a mediocre minor county side. Rudolph has underperformed and embarrassing to say the least. So different to the Tony Lewis years with the likes of Alan Jones, Majid Khan.
You can draw parallels with CCFC 1970's v now.
What are the management going to do as frankly nobody wants to watch the current rubbish. T20 v Yorks was so disappointing ☹️
The agony is almost over!
Beaten by 318 runs
Morris OUT !!!
I see Rudolph is not in the team for today's match with Gloucestershire - latest score 41-1 after being put into bat by Gloucs.
Fair enough, but I hope he gets a chance in our last couple of matches to show that he's a better player than his performances indicate this season - I know last season wasn't brilliant for him, but I don't think anyone saw what's happened with him this year coming.
It'll probably be short and sweet, but Donald is on 33 after facing eighteen balls, while Selman has got some welcome runs - he's seventy four off ninety balls and Glamorgan are 130-3 just before lunch.
Talk about the nervous nineties. Selman has been on 98 now 99 for about 25 minutes!! I'm nervous anyway!
