    Re: Glasgow Rangers

Can’t say I understand why managers do this, bringing on a player cold just to take a penalty, sometimes without a chance of a player even getting a touch of a ball.

    Re: Forest/Sheff Utd

Meanwhile in France, at half time in Paris FC’s semi playoff game for promotion to Ligue 1 against Sochaux, they’ve scored, missed two penalties, had to sub off a player due to injury, had one of the...

Re: Dag & RedB v Wrexham

I’d be interested to know how clubs have fared with this type of PO arrangement they’ve got in the conference now. Obviously a big advantage to play at home and although it’s one game left, in a long...

    Re: Klopp vs Pep

Both exceptional managers. Personally, I prefer watching Klopp’s teams to Pep’s generally.

Both in different ways steamroller and overload the opposition, Klopp’s side seem to have that bit more...

    Re: GLAMMY

Van der Gugten and Lloyd (haven’t heard with what yet?) out of the attack may make things today a bit tougher. Fantastic fight back yesterday though, all credit to Root and Neser in particular....

    Re: Overpaid/Underpaid Jobs

Can argue the toss on the comparable levels of pay but in my experience it’s better to think of the role more like a CEO in a relatively large organisation/business than that of a politician with a...

    Re: GLAMMY

Surprised to learn Glammy won the toss when I tuned in this morning, looking a curious choice after that session and how the conditions look now I’ve got the stream on. Game we should be targeting to...

    Re: Criminally Underated Bands Thread

The ‘Mats are definitely one of those sort of doomed, “shoulda been a contender ‘ma” type bands. Loved their stuff from the beginning till ‘pleased to meet you’.

    Bob Mould definitely worth seeing...

Nice ‘un Marnus! Decent partnership that and solid 20 runs from TvG as the night watchman.

    Re: Criminally Underated Bands Thread

‘Let me come over’ is a great LP of its type, the one after was good too. Saw them once in London a fair few years ago now. Do think they get fairly lumped in with the (American) student crowd though...

Anyone know if this deal starts from the next set of NL and qualifiers and if the PO final still be on s4c?

    Re: Orange is the new...........?

I’m probably slow on the uptake and not understanding the question but I thought Luton did play in orange in the 70s?

Edit: ah, I understand your post later in the thread re Luton now! Apologies.

    Re: GLAMMY

Strange old score in that Sussex combined innings against Derbyshire. Makes me wonder what the highest score posted after a follow on in first class cricket is.

Derbyshire could be a dark horse...

    Re: Newport county

They looked in good Nick before this run and pipping an auto promotion place didn’t look out of the question at one point. So many teams bunched up in this league so you never know, they may pop the...

I’ve been abroad and not been able to keep an eye on this, save the notifications coming through, which has done me a favour I guess. What a turnaround from last week.

    Re: Average Gate 19,000

Not a bad number considering how poor this season has been.

I was thinking of this earlier but I would imagine the city would have to be in with a shout of being one of the clubs in the Football...

Fantastic effort and a thoroughly satisfying win. I don’t think you could say Notts played very poorly either and looking back the difference was perhaps a tale...

Popped in after work to catch an hour or so before the close of play and saw him reach his hundred. They were playing on a wicket very close to the right of the pavilion end.

  24. Re: Wales discover World Cup playoff final date

Glad there’s now a date and Ukraine get some chance to compete.

The PO game will obviously be the priority but it’s a bit disappointing it’s had to be (understandably) shoehorned into the NL...
  25. Re: Merthyr is in demand it seems - finally on the up.

Always thought with a bit of canny marketing you could advertise a lot of the towns on the heads of the valleys as cheap/competitive alternatives to stay as a base for excursions into the Beacons.
