This might be a stupid question with an obvious answer, but can anyone explain why batting and bowling points are only awarded for each side's first innings (as opposed to both)?

You could say the same for basketball (which, by the way, is just as popular in continental Europe as the US). Most of the top players in the NBA are European (Jokic, Doncic, Giannis, Wenbyama etc.)....
Worth noting that this is for domestic broadcasts only.
For us expats (and those who watch via the high seas) it's business as usual.
I'm sure I read on here that they are "revamping" the matchday experience next season? Something about their contracts with the existing providers running out, and a new contract kicking in with...
It's a fair argument for Lockyer, who has said that leaving to play in the lower leagues made him the player he is. And, to an extent, Burns (although it's worth noting Fleetwood made the League 1...
I'm talking about players who were released at 14/15, not 18/19.
Regan Poole was released in June 2014, aged 15, and was playing senior mens football just two months later. He was signed by Man...
Another one who, like Tom Lockyer, was released from the City academy as a teenager.
Could add Regan Poole to that list, too.
Whoever was making the decisions at the academy during that period...
I was mentioning this to my old man the other day. He's been here since November 2021 and in that time you can't say any players have really progressed. Decent players come here and seem to struggle...
For me, this is more worrying than any of his other comments or rants over the last few months, because it suggests that he can't see what the problem is. And it's a glaringly obvious, stat-backed...
Cancel that - Glen Williams saying he's going there.
I hope he has a shit season and rots on the bench :hehe:
The journo is saying Ipswich have agreed a deal with Bournemouth. It doesn't necessarily mean Kieffer will want to go there.
They agreed a deal with Millwall in the summer as well and Kieffer...
Yep, let's stick with our current strike force of Etete, Meite, and Robinson, who've scored a combined total of 5 league goals this year.
Panzo was first choice CB for a Championship play off finalist last season, and he couldn't get a sniff for us.
It happens. Doesn't mean Denham "couldn't make the grade" there. They're top of...
Bad mistake from Mcguinness but that's horrendous goalkeeping. He could have easily come for that and then when he did decide to stay he was standing outside his post.
Preston are absolutely awful...
I use an adblocker and the last time I read a WoL article, it told me it was blocking 95 (thats right, 95) ads on the page.
Most web pages have between 5 and 10 ads.
I don't understand why though?
We've qualified for 3 tournaments in the last 7 years and we regularly sell out our home games. And even though it's a 4 year contract, I'd be shocked (and appalled)...
I remember Richard Langley trying to do the same thing at Ninian Park and the ball nearly went out of the ground
Does this mean we're going to replay the Chelsea game from 2019 now?
Klopp has made himself look an absolute clown asking for a replay there.
Mark Delaney against Chester in the FA Cup (1998 I think?)

Think we won that game 6-0.
Barring an injury crisis, it looks like Kieffer will be available in January. And if we're in a position financially to get him in, it's an absolute no-brainer.
I don't care if he forced a move...
Am I right in assuming that, if Poland (who just sacked their coach) get their shit together and qualify, we'll likely play Estonia instead?
Bit unfair, Gintra are a full time professional outfit.
City only just turned semi pro 3 months ago.
They've started to misjudge a lot of things over the last few years.
I was willing to give him the benefit for the tactical shambles today but that post match presser is an absolute shovel of shit.
At this point it's clear it's not a coincidence.
Ipswich's 2nd and 3rd goals were streaky but a mentally strong team finds ways to see these games out.
As Warnock used to say, you've got to die...
