    Re: Meite out for season

There aren't many teams that get promoted or even challenge for promotion that don't have a top quality striker and goalscorer.

;-) PIkey was a cult figure, I won't have a word said against him

    Re: Meite out for season

Great answer. It would have been interesting to see where may have ended up this season with a half competent centre forward on the books. Imagine a Bothroyd or Chris Pike playing centre forward....

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...

I'd agree with all of that. Although, as we have discussed before, I think that Beecher is more of a winger than a full back. When he came on for the 1st team it was as a left wing back. Luey Giles...

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...

Colwill jnr has got the lot, workrate, drive, energy and scores goals. He should be above Wintle in the pecking order. He and Ashford have been a class above this season for the U21's.

    Nyakuhwa is...

    Re: Another Colwill thread.

I'm not sure anybody expects them to be the foundation of the side, but they would be an appropriate way to add squad depth. The two most successful English Clubs are Liverpool and Man City, they...

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...

It would appear that our 'Trialist' Goalkeeper is 18 year old Ewan Griffiths. From Pontypridd, he has been capped by Wales at U17 level. He has been with Sewansea since a schoolnboy. He has been...

Re: Has the club ever been "well run"?

Yes, could be. It's just that expectation has gone through the roof.

Compare it to my 1st 25 years of watching the City 1975-2001! Then Hammann came and changed everything, as football has changed.

Re: We Want You to Stay

It's an impossible question to answer unless we know who the replacement would be.

Yesterday was great, but it still asks more questions than it provides answers. It questions why Ashford hasn't...

Re: Steve Borley and Gavin Chesterfield.

Steve Borley has been championing the Academy for best part of 30 years. He's been unwavering in his investment of time and his own money. Top bloke, top bluebird.

    Re: Another Colwill thread.

I'd agree with most of that, apart from us playing better than Soton. For 60+ minutes they battered us.

What yesterday did prove was that with Bulut's low press we need pace and directness in...

    Re: Leighton James

Leighton James was one of Britain's top talents. After Derby won the League for the second time in '75 they threw their whole transfer budget at Leighton James and at the time (Nov '75) £300k was one...

And he's blocking the progress of Rubin, who clearly is a better player.

    .
  17. Re: CARDIFF CITY v SOUTHAMPTON. Match thread.

    1. Rubin has to play
    2. Rubin has to play in the centre
    3. We need pace in the team - Tanner & Ashford (and Conte when he came on) provided that.
  18. Re: CARDIFF CITY v SOUTHAMPTON. Match thread.

I'm watching the match on some dodgy link. I didn't realise how popular I was. There are lots of girls wanting to chat and send me photos
  19. Re: CARDIFF CITY v SOUTHAMPTON. Match thread.

Agree, although Rubin looks a little lost. I'd hook Turnbull and bring on Dieidhiou and play Rubin in the centre
  20. Re: CARDIFF CITY v SOUTHAMPTON. Match thread.

Tanner has been the bright spark, providing all the entertainment in attack and defence.

He's still probably a better defender than Romeo, who I just don't get. He's a tidy athlete and has got a...

    Good summary.

It's like watching the England v Ireland 6 Nations match each season hoping both of them get hammered.

Yes, I'd be surprised if they were renewed. I really don't understand these types of signings:- Older junior players, no better than we have already. They just block the progress of others. I wonder...

I hope not, Joe Crole is another option (not at left back though) as someone not involved in todays U21 game and for full back, Will Spiers

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...

I hope to goodness that Bulut's one foray into playing kids does not manifest in giving debuts to Antwi and Conte. It would be a kick in the teeth for all who work for the academy.

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...

I don't think that Beecher is a left back, maybe a wing back and certainly a left winger. He reminds me of O'Dowda

Giles has got to be the next cab off the rank at left back.
