    Wrexham

Given the inexplicable silence evident on this board I would like to congratulate Wrexham on their two consecutive promotion seasons. We now have Welsh teams competing in all three of the EFL...

    Thank you. Missed it.
  3. Re: BIRMINGHAM CITY v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

    Re: Absolute Love God

The children's book he is describing tells the story of a lion/boy who must ascend a steep mountain in the winter cold to secure a special flower that contains the antidote to a poison that is...
  5. Re: Prince Harry linked in sex scandal: When Harry Met Sally?

The royal life ain't what it used to be, that's for sure. Time was it was probably the most fascinating gig around, which is why usurpation, or attempts at usurpation, were constant. But not for this...

    Re: Stadium naming rights ?

It is if the owner says it is. He changed the team colours to red and all hell quite properly broke loose. Continuity matters.

If it's to be Cardiff City Stadium, why shouldn't the team be Cardiff...

    Re: Stadium naming rights ?

This constant changing of stadium names is a curse, a destroyer of tradition and identity. Tan should have named the new stadium Ninian Park.

Re: Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

Why did the camera crew keep focusing on that girl with the red lipstick up in the corporate box?

  9. Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread

I showed up about a year later. Dave Carver and Gary Bell were in place by then. Of this group, I didn't know Derrett and Ferguson.

Re: The 'stupid boy' has left us!

    From Wikipedia:

In 1968, Lowe was cast in his best remembered role, as Home Guard platoon leader Captain Mainwaring in the BBC sitcom Dad's Army (1968–1977). Some colleagues on the show later...

  12. Re: The American fascination with the British royal family...

Yes, indeed, with an incredible cast including some pretty fascinating Williams, Henrys, Edwards and Richards as well as Bloody Mary, Gloriana and Victoria. It has been quite the show.
  13. The American fascination with the British royal family...

Re: The 'stupid boy' has left us!

Damn nostalgia. The hiraeth kicks in strong when I think of those long-ago days snuggled up in the living room, coal fire blaring, with mum and dad, laughing at Capt. Mainwaring's pomposity. So many...

    Re: The Donald Trump thread

Jack Smith did not pull it from the docket. The judge did. The originally scheduled trial date of March 4 has become untenable due to Trump's assertion of presidential immunity. That assertion must...

Re: Trump wins the Iowa caucuses by a lot

If so, then he will govern within the constitutional framework that has restrained every president. The Democrats are exhausting everyone with their paranoid "literally Hitler" and "end of democracy"...

  19. Re: Cardiff City's Legal Battle With Nantes - Update

My mother, of an evening, in her armchair with her knitting needles and watching the telly:

"Oh, no. Not Arthur bloody Askey!"

    Good one.
  25. Re: Day-to-day noises not heard so much anymore.

I used to lay in my bed in Llanrumney listening to those foghorns. Sound travels far at night. Also, a hooting owl in the forest.
