  1. Re: “Match day experience” at Cardiff City Stadium leaving a bit to be desired at the moment.

    Goal Keeper:

I think comments on here about Phillips hoofing it up the pitch are unfair - he clearly looks to play long passes when he can.

    Defence:

    Flint and Morrison are extremely...

Re: Where do we go from here?

My point has been that often the 90minutes is the last thing to change and reflects positive moves that have already been made off-the-pitch. There are signs that positive moves are happening away...
  3. Sticky: Re: CARDIFF CITY v AFC BOURNEMOUTH. Match thread

It's really not that surprising that we looked second best to one of the best in the division when we had two plus from our starting XI out.

Nor is it surprising that we looked very poor when not...
  4. Sticky: Re: CARDIFF CITY v AFC BOURNEMOUTH. Match thread

    Glass half-full:

Err... some interesting options off the bench and we get another look at Brown before deciding whether to offer a new deal?

Re: Where do we go from here?

In my opinion, you can't look at:

    1. The players we've recently let go (sale or release), and
    2. The players we're bringing in (signings or from academy), and
    3. Young players coming here after...

Re: Where do we go from here?

If Sludge wants hoofball and Blue Lewj wants us to use magic beans then I fall somewhere in the middle.

We're not fully moving away from physical style in near future but majority of signs...

Re: Where do we go from here?

I agree that high expectations need to be avoided as well as avoiding need to rely on them performing.

I guess that Mick's been brought in to help avoid that and I don't know if he was teaching...

Re: Where do we go from here?

If we go down our crowds don't go above 10,000 and we have even less money to invest in our academy, (needed development in our) scouting, transfer dealings....

    Positive change gets further away...

Re: Where do we go from here?

Not completely. Goals against Forest and Blackpool show signs of clever passing and movement, even if it's not quite seen enough yet.

Re: Where do we go from here?

Huddersfield tried to change things in one season last year and risked going down to League One only being saved by easing off push for change at back end of season, Swansea are trying to change in...

    Re: Wales v Kazakhstan

France won 10-0 against Greece tonight in the same group :yikes: Lucky for them it's more about head-to-head rather than goal difference.

Wales/Cymru's fixture's here for anyone looking out for...

    Re: Derby going into administration

Sounds like Covid-19 hit Derby when Mel Morris took over in 2015 if not before.

Re: Where do we go from here?

But at the moment the bulk of our team is still old-school Cardiff. We can only hope the youngsters are getting street-wise this year and ready to play in a more skillful way next year.

    I'm not...

Re: THE SAYINGS OF LORD MICK [1]

    If that means:

    i) "I play to my players strengths" - it's a good thing because from next year we should have a lot more skillful players in each position

ii) "I don't get need to play with...

    Playing squad:

    - Becoming younger and more skillful - not being shown at this moment in time because defenders and CM hasn't really been looked at yet but type of player being brought in shows...

Re: Where do we go from here?

If we split your statement up:

    I) we'd have seen signs of change by now - I disagree.
II) Mick's not going to change - I'm inclined to agree but we can't say definitely until end of this season...
  17. Re: Embarrassment at Coventry a consequence of years of mismanagement at Cardiff City.

Basically re-posting this because I think it's a good bit of analysis.
  18. Re: 7 games in - league position of our opponents so far

Would be really interesting to go back to one of the pre-season predictor threads and see what people thought of these teams then.

My memory is that Barnsley and Millwall were thought highly of...

Re: Where do we go from here?

What manager are you hiring to change style of play who can't be promised money to spend on squad? What manager is interested in coming to work with players Warnock left?

    Simple facts are that...
  20. Re: 7 games in - league position of our opponents so far

So are you suggesting our position is false because we've only won games against slowest starters in the division?

But if our league position is false and doesn't give enough information about...
  21. Re: Embarrassment at Coventry a consequence of years of mismanagement at Cardiff City.

I'm so bored of the "style of football" and "longer term planning" conversations where I think the same points are being made - I am one of the worst offenders.

At this point the thing that is...

These threads should start by posting link to side Warnock left us (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019%E2%80%9320_Cardiff_City_F.C._season) and posters saying what they would have done differently...

Re: FT: COVENTRY CITY 1 - 0 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

Huddersfield and Coventry were bad enough to go down last year but 7 games in and their fans are ecstatic this season. Think we're taking a slower approach to changing things but, fingers crossed, if...
  25. Re: Have any clubs played more hoofball than us under 3 consecutive managers?

I'd agree with that, but still it is only 7 games in. I can see one of Huddersfield or Coventry potentially finishing in play-offs this year but definitely not both and the other is likely to be a...
