Re: Of the Epic Films Made

Hardly an epic. 'Ben Hur' is an epic, or 'Spartacus'.
The Great Escape is okay for a quiet Sunday afternoon, but an epic it is not.

    Re: Always loved Hereford Away

I was at that game! I loved going up to Hereford as well. A fairly easy trip, and always a raucous crowd. They also had a microwave in the food stall, so the pasties were hot, and they also sold...
  3. Re: My team for Tuesday (could be shot down for this !)

Everyone knows we have slow defenders, that don't turn well, and we are weak on the left flank (Sorry Joel, but it's true). We need to make a couple of changes in defence, like bringing in...

    Re: Big game today...

Four down now - with West From to come in midweek. Might get something against Reading, then it's Fulham and Swansea. Unless McCarthy comes up with something pretty soon, he's toast.

Re: Thirty years since the Ely riots.

Something in my head says the date isn't correct, but I reckon I'm thinking about earlier riots in Cardiff, and around the country. Does this ring any bells with anyone? Would have been around 1980...

    Pink shirts

I must admit I've been surprised at the success of the 'pink' away shirts. You see a lot of people wearing them, and the club appears to have sold out. Also none available on eBay, which means people...

Re: Club TV not selling today’s game?

I know that works - if I pay to watch an away game, my son can also watch the same game using the same log-in, in a different city.

Re: Club TV not selling today’s game?

Do you still use your own club log-in?

    Big game today...

I accidentally posted this in the middle of one of The Other Bob Wilson's quizzes, so sorry Bob... I'll try again.

Lose this game, and Mick could be in trouble. It's a toughie against West Brom...

    Re: Len Ashurst RIP

"Lenny Ashurst's bushy eyebrows" we used to sing, back in the day.

    Re: Telephone banking

I went to online banking in the mid-90s, via First Direct (highly recommended, part of HSBC), and I'm still with them. A few years ago, they shifted to phone banking as well. Took me a while to get...

    Re: BT hub v Sky?

Re: Club TV not selling today’s game?

Okay, how about someone posting an idiots guide to getting around this. Obviously, it's possible to 'cheat the system' by pretending you live abroad. How do you do it?

    Len Ashurst RIP

Just seen reports that ex-City manager Len Ashurst has died. He was with us for two seasons 82-84, and again in 89-91. Also known for his successes at Newport County. A sad loss.
  15. Re: Seven decades of Cardiff City v Blackburn Rovers matches.

Lose this game, and Mick could be in trouble. It's a toughie against West Brom right after that, and so he could find himself having to beat Reading to keep his job. Especially with Fulham and...
  16. Re: Drinking in your seat at the football could be reinstated

If the club has any sense, they would limit this to certain areas of the ground.
  17. Re: O/T Is Cardiff city centre busy on saturdays?

I've been into town a couple of times on recent weekends. It's not quite back to what it used to be, but that's hardly surprising, given that a lot of shops have closed. It's quite busy from around...

Re: Welcome to the future (part 101)

That's a bit harsh. Tony is well known for his apparent technophobia, and so plays up to it. And most us happily go along with it.

Re: Net Carbon Neutral game Spurs Vs chelsea

I can't see how they can possibly claim that a football match is carbon neutral. How did they work it out? What did they include or exclude from their calculations? Let's see the figures.

    Re: Is 4-4-2 the answer?

Interesting to see that we played the last twenty minutes yesterday with a basic four-four-two formation, and probably looked the most effective we had all game (though that's not saying much). Mick...

Re: DML, anybody, give me something

    Okay, some positives.
I fully expected us to get a hiding yesterday, and we didn't. So that's a plus. Okay, being pleased because we 'only' lost 1-0 isn't the best positive, but I'll go further -...

    Re: Derby going into administration

Got to be honest, I hate to see any club go under. I know it's survival of the fittest, what goes round comes round and all that, but this isn't a good thing to see, no matter which club it is.

Re: anyone on here been to Baja ? ?

Only reading this week about the problems in northern Mexico - especially anywhere you could possibly get across the border. Not the safest of places, apparently.
