Why would a person be pissing themselves laughing hours after their daughter has been shot, and seconds before they give a press conference about it? He seemed to be unaware initially that the cameras were already rolling, and hastily attempted to get 'in character' before he made his statement.

Grief can effect different people in different ways. I agree it looks odd from an outsider, but who knows how any of us would react in that situation.

As I said none of us know exactly how we'd react until faced with it, although we can all imagine what we'd be like.

I think I've mentioned this before to you, but my best mates kid had meningitis a few years ago. My mate wasn't dealing with it well at all so asked me to stay with them so I could take in what the doctors were saying and help explain it to him. Obviously I had no problem. Then late at night he takes a turn for the worse and after about an hour the specialist wants to see us all to explain.
I know what you mean, everyone will see it differently, I just know I wouldn't want to be speaking to any cameras anyway.

The meeting was basically brutal and telling us that the kid would be lucky to make the night, she held no punches. With that I look over to my mate and he's fallen a sleep. I apologised to the specialist and said it had been a long day for him, she looked and smiled and said she'd seen similar things plenty of times and not to worry as people deal with it all in different ways.
Can you imagine many people hugging David Cameron?
