Thread: "We're trying to reduce the wage bill. We've got to get the numbers down,"

"We're trying to reduce the wage bill. We've got to get the numbers down,"

Strange goings on at City. Players like Fabio, Guerra, Burgstaller, - and others - who could clearly have given the manager more options, have gone. Some told from the off that they weren't part of his plans.

Whilst the manager's role is first and foremost to improve team performances, the comment [above] by Slade suggests that he has been brought primarily to cut the wage bill, and nothing else.

I agree with your conclusion but Fabio and Burgstaller are still here, although for how long remains to be seen.

Slade has said that Fabio is part of his plans, but yesterday he played a right back at left back, a center half at right back and left Fabio on the bench

What's the saying? The morning after the night before?

Vincent thought he'd bought a load of Bentleys, but he's discovered that most of them are Toyotas so he's instructed Slade to them back to the garage.
