Thread: " news " from the mainstream source

" news " from the mainstream source

This has puzzled me for a while now, it came to a head yesterday in a discussion with " The sheep report " about Israel helping ISIS ( which reading the stories only pointed out that they were attacking Hezbollah imho ), then today the same person posts about a US police officer unloading 137 rounds into a car, the link was some " thefreethoughtproject " which upon further reading, just looks like a website thats very anti police

We are being told that the mainstream news agencies " Fox / Sky / BBC etc etc " are feeding us stories the " new world order ( or whatever we call them now " want us to read and swallow

To a degree this is no realy surprise, Goverments around the world have always used the " press " to put a angle on certain things they want to do, in war's its called propaganda ( i guess it still called it out of war time )

    BUT

why should we accept " alternative news feeds " as fact ? ? ? afterall its just a internet site, we can all set-up a site and spout " news ", as i said above, thefreethoughtproject just looks like a anti-police site, should we accept the " facts " on that as its not on the mainstream news ? ? ?

Best not treat anything as 100% fact or 100% truth. Take in as many sources as possible and make the best judgement possible thereafter.

Bloody hell I thought I was obsessed by these topics but reading this board the last few days it looks as if I'm a part timer

Stories are put out for many reasons, whether it be to make something socially acceptable, discredited another person/nation or even make money. Sometimes the angle they take and the wording alone is very subtle propaganda. If you feel pashun-ate about something then look for as many sources about the subject as possible (not always easy in the copy & paste website hit world that surrounds MSM) Censorship (Google = the Ministry of Truth) may mean you have to dig a little deeper

They're just searching for something to fill a hole in their lives and then they feed off each other. I think it makes them feel itk. Borderline mental illness IMO

I once worked as a middle manager for an American owned newspaper, the internal politics and news agendas (even at a local level) were a real eye opener.

The reason 4m people read about benefit cheats, terrorism and immigration is because they are three serious threats/issues to our society. That socialists and liberals seem to regard half a million new immigrants into the UK as something insignificant just shows how far away they are from the mindset of the British working class - the very peole they claim to represent..

It certainly doesn't mean that you have to accept everything without fact checking it, simply because it's on the internet. But it does mean that the competition to get stories right, is far more than it would have been in years gone by.

It's not an argument solely of "socialists and liberals." It's pretty easy to see what's going on if you open your eyes.

I mean, it really beggars belief that there are people out there that invest so much time in taking this stuff seriously. Common sense is enough to know that in todays day and age such a 'goverment hoax' would be completely impractical for a start. Any one person with proof of this 'hoax' could destroy it in seconds with a simple tweet. But that is not enough for people who are essentially mentally ill, whether diagnosed or undiagnosed. I just wish these people would either seek help here or move abroad to a country they trust more. But i suspect they believe the health services are all 'in on it' too.

edit to the above: Another giveaway that these sites are run by wackos is that often the conspiracy theorist will be trying to sell something. In the ridiculous video which i mentioned above, at the end the guy being interviewed advertises his website. If you follow that website then you are immediately met with an advert to buy his book. This one unsurprisingly titled 'Breaking the spell - The Holocaust Myth and Reality'.

Yesterday in one of my first posts about all this stuff I said that conspiracy theorists today will be of the same psychological and moral make up of holocaust deniers and there's your proof. Sick, sick people.

Like alfie said, investigative journalism is one thing...but these conspiracy theorist sites are something else.

But hey! I work in supply chain management for one of the worlds biggest companies, if you look around your living room you'll probably see the brand. I'll also add that I hate corporations, but it pays for me to look after my family and give me absolute freedom of how I spend my life outside work
