Wales v England 1982, stood on the Grandstand enclosure couldn't see a thing! Lost 1 0
the first ever international football match held in Great Britain that was watched by all-seater spectators
Wales 0 England 3
October 1967
Wales 0 Hungary 3 at Ninian Park, October 1985. Stood on the Bob Bank.
Andorra match at CCS in October will be almost 30 years to the day since my first Wales match.
I was at this one too, in the enclosure in front of the Grandstand, towards the Canton end so had a great view of Hughes' goal. Remember Denmark had the whole of the Grange End, all decked out in red and white.Originally Posted by Bluemellons wrote on Mon, 30 March 2015 18:45
Wales v Russia , I think at NP. Ivor Allchurch was brilliant.
Just double checked and I saw Wales draw 0 - 0 with England in October 1965 and then they beat Russia 2 - 0 later that month.
A long time ago guys.
First game I remember was beating Germany in 1991 I think remember being hoisted up when Rush scores
Believe I had been to a game prior though
Only missed a handful since
Wales V Scotland, Home International at Ninian Park in May '74. Stood on the Grange End for the first time with my mates from school.
Think Wales lost!
The infamous Rudi Glockner game v Yugoslavia in the Grange end.
Netherlands in the national stadium I think. Sometime in the mid-90's. I remember seeing Patrick Kluivert up close.
Pretty sure we got smashed like 4 - 0 or something.
Saturday, 17th October 1959, Wales 1 England 1, Ninian Park, Attendance: 60,000
Wales v Yugoslavia (83 not 76)...stood on the bob bank and a wrexham fan threatened to "put that flag right up my ***" if I didnt stop waving it
Wales 1czechs 0. Gilo scored early. World Cup qualifiing which ended with the vetch floodlight disaster v Iceland. Drew 2-2 after beating them 4-0 in Iceland. That 1 pt dropped cost us going to Spain.
Must have been late 1980?Originally Posted by Lord Worcestershire wrote on Mon, 30 March 2015 22:46
Germany in 1991 I think when no. 5 Ian Rush scored the winner
October 1962. Wales 2 Scotland 3. The records say John Charles and Ivor Allchurch scored for us but I don't remember much about it except that we lost and it was very hard for a young lad on the terraces to see much. Crowd recorded as 50,000.
This for me aswellOriginally Posted by Zenith wrote on Mon, 30 March 2015 18:27
May 1976 v Yugoslavia at Ninian Park. First away game 1979 v England at Wembley.

Of course next game they smashed us 7-1 in Eindhoven.Originally Posted by Howl wrote on Mon, 30 March 2015 22:05
Wales 1 Northern Ireland 1 at the Vetch in 1984. Last ever British Home Championships.
Missed the bus home and had to call my dad to come and pick us up - not a happy pappy
Wales v Costa Rica, 1990, we won 1-0 at the old Arms Park.
that was played at ninian parkOriginally Posted by Stavross CCFC wrote on Tue, 31 March 2015 08:51
I guessing a home international game about 1973 i have this memory of walking through the Grangend turnstiles and my old man finding a Welsh Rossette and puting it on me can't remember who we played though.
Denmark 1987, got soaked on the Bob Bank
The atmos was amazing that night & we beat a world class side that night ! Plus Big Nev was amazing in goals !
