Worth getting ?
Pros, Cons ?
I do. I've had it for 2 years and am obsessed by it. Pros - more than a pedometer, it also tracks sleep, exercise, heart rate (depending on which model you get) and you can use with other people who own one for motivation, challenges, etc. Cons - pricey.
Best thing I've bought for years, it keeps me way more active than I ever was before and it gives an all round picture of your health. You can also log your daily food on it.
Agree entirely with Phil's summary. Was given it as a birthday present in December. Was a bit cynical at first but some 4 month's later I can honestly say that it has really helped me to become a lot more active. I am almost fanatical about it and with my son and daughter in law also having one, I have them as friends so i can see how I am performing against them. Get one.

Don't buy one then.
What do they do?
Massively popular at the moment. I sell FitBit Flex replacement straps and I am selling loads. Everyone seems to have them.
Though a good gadget, not worth spending any money on, unless you have more money than you know what to do with.
Edit: although saying that, read so far it has saved a guys life by letting the doctors know when he had a seizure. And a girl found out she was pregnant thanks for to her fitbit.
Also popular is the Garmin Vivofit and if you are on a budget the Xiaomi Miband.
Just to balance things up a bit, I bought one for my wife. She had endless problems syncing it with both a Windows phone and our Windows 10 PC. I eventually returned it but she has had much the same experience with the new one. She's logging out of her account on each device every time she uses it (we've been told it can cause an issue if you're logged into two devices) but it will sync for a while and then stop, then she has to go onto the other device and it will sync on there. Not the end of the world but annoying and the makers have basically told her to "turn it off and on", which she's done to no avail.
Having said all that she still loves it and finds it really motivating.
I haven't use it before. But I heard that its good to use. Any idea guys?

I got my oldest daughter ( 13 yrs old ) a Xiaomi Miband for christmas, about £ 14 if my memory is correct, it counts her steps, does the sleep pattern, wakes her up slowly via the iphone
she is happy with it and it does what it says on the tin, might be worth looking at as a " see if its worth buying a more expensive one " type of thing
I have a pedometer ap on my phone which is good enough for me. It measures distances, steps, calories, average speed and produces a daily graph.
