Thread: So, who will be leaving in the summer?

  1. #1

So, who will be leaving in the summer?

    Just my view

Leaving whether we like it or not

    Marshall
    Manga

    Leaving

    Macheda
    Noone
    Malone
    Turner
    Dikgacio

    Possibly leaving

    Saadi
    Morrison

Young Players who should be given a chance next season

    Oshilaja
    Tutonda
    John
    Harris
    Healy

As I say just my view but the cost cutting will continue so the team may look something like this

    Moore
    Peltier
    Oshilaja
    Connolly
    John
    Gunnarson
    Ralls
    Whittingham
    Pilkington
    Immers
    Zohore

Got to hope the transfer embargo is lifted.

Wouldn't be surprised if Immers goes elsewhere

Slade hopefully and at least Ameobi goes back.

The embargo must surely be lifted in our last accounts we declared a profit

We will probably see turner and john play next week and then release them in the summer which will be plain crazy but the club is still a basket case. Turner has been fit for a month and shud be retained as it certain we will cash in on Manga. How much will it cost to replace turner or where will we find a player for nothing to replace him?

If Slade stays he'll be wanting to sign him on a permanent deal

Re: So, who will be leaving in the summer?

Turner, Jones, Kiss and Velikonja all out of contract.

Ameobi, Lawrence and Zahore loans finished.

Manga, John, Pilkington, Whittingham, Connolly, Moore, Fabio, Malone, Adeyemi, Dikgachoi,Ajeyi, Macheda, LeFondre, Harris all in their last year according to WOL

Need to try to also extend contracts of Pilkington, O'Keefe, Connolly, Moore and probably Malone and Whitts.

Manga - would be nice to keep him but finances might dictate he's sold.

John - have one more season of trying to get him in line.

The rest we should try to move on or loan out. Easier said than done

What do you mean get John in line?

    Allegedly he's had discipline problems.
If there's a new manager he should get a new chance

Well that surprises me tbh because whenever I've seen him around Merthyr he comes across a decent young man.

I reckon we sell Manga to the highest bidder and give Turner a two year deal.

Assuming Turner stays fit we pretty much stand still in the position with a hefty fee from Manga.

Hopefully we can use that to keep Immers and possibly sign another striker.

Hopefully that striker is not Zohore. His touch is awful.

He has got the touch of the Rudy's about him.

He even had a daft ball hit the back of his head from a goal kick moment like Rudy did that one time.

Might just be untrue rumour I guess.

Either way, he's not getting a sniff now, BUT might respond to a new manager.
Wouldn't be an expensive gamble to give him a chance to prove himself this summer

Zahore's touch is not great (yet) and he doesn't win many headers or act as a target man (yet) but he has power, pace and a good shot on him. He is still young, adapting to the Championship and building match fitness. I would be happy to see a new loan deal for him, or even a permanent deal with a view to developing him through the first team squad, as long as he is not the main striker.

His first touch is so bad that his second touch is a tackle

Doyle and Lefondre will be back at the club after their loans. Wonder if there's a future for either here next season?

His second touch against Bolton was a goal. He's a mixed bag at the moment, but could well come good.

Were you also down on Rudy when he was with us?

Ameobi loan should be sued under trade descriptions act . If you had purchased him under normal rules you would take him and the receipt back to the seller and ask for a refund. He should be ashamed of himself ,knob.

Turner had played 11 games in two seasons for us so will go I reckon, along with Jones, Kiss and Velikonja. I thnk Joe Lewis is out if contact too, his one League game in 4 years has cost us a lot. He should be a regular elsewhere.

Ameobi will thankfully be gone. Lawrence won't want to come back after the way Slade has treated him. Zohore should go back to, or are we honour bound to sign him?

I thnk Harrs may be out of contrac too and won't be missed , although suddenly Slade seems to prefer him to Lawrence after ignoring him all season.

Manga, Marshall and possibly Morrison could be tempted away if we get any bids.

I'd also try and unload Fabio, Dikgachoi , Macheda, Le Fondre, Adeyemi and Doyle, the first 5 are probably in big money as they were signed by OGS, and I think all have one year left on their contracts so we can possibly get fees now or lose them next summer for nothing and have to pay their wages next season.

No one and Gunnarsson have hardly shone this season too, so I see a big turnover of players this summer. Slade's other signings Kennedy, Ajayi and O'Keefe have hardly done much either. And the youngsters have been wasted by not getting game time and being ignored, so I think when Slade eventually leaves we'll be in a worse position than when he came in.
