Thread: Ken Choo's £28m squad

    Ken Choo's £28m squad

Where has this figure come from ?
Is it transfer fees, as I'm struggling to get to the figure.
If it's wages hen all of the big earners were not Slades signings - and most don't justify their salaries.

I'm not sure it was fair to use this to judge Slade

Manga £5m, but misses half the games and is inconsistent when he plays

Morrison £3m, decent, but prob not worth that much. Injured a fair bit this year too.

Le Fondre £2m ish - doesn't want to be here

    Adeyemi £1m - loaned

Pilkington £1.5m - has proved his worth IMHO

    Turner £750k injured

Doyle - £700k, yes this one was Slades signing. Seems strange he was loaned out as our strikers were so poor

Marshall £500k- worth 10x that, so makes up for some of the above

    Whitts £250k - bargain ,

Velikonja £2m ish ? Less said the better

Kiss - £500k ? Again, not up to it and loaned out

Note, both of these were Jones signings

Can't think of any other significant payments made - maybe a million on the others in total. Perhaps I've got some figures wrong.

If Choo is talking about annual wage bill then I guess Slade can be blamed for a few... Ameobi being the biggest disaster, but does he really carry the can for Jones, Velikonja , Adeyemi, Dikcachoi , Fabio ( maybe this one yes - as underused), Gunner, Le Fondre, Macheda, Manga, Morrison, etc probably on £10-£12m between them all not being worth the wages mainly Ole gave them.

Still a big job required this summer in finding clubs for most of these.
I reckon that - and being Tans ears on the new signings - is what Slade's role will be.

Why would the CEO deride a current employee in public like that?

Perhaps it's the surprise and disappointment that he refused to fall on his sword.

I'll be amazed if he's still here in August

Id say its our squads valuation.

Are you being selective to fit your own argument?
If you go back far enough to have Whitts on there why isn't Cornelius for example. And where are the rest of the team? We must be paying them something?

Why would Cornelius be on there he's not our player anymore?

I've listed players in our current squad which have been bought in.

Cornelius went back to Denmark about 18 months ago

    Possibly ..

Who would make that value up ?

    I'd guess...

    Marshall £5m
Manga £3m ( if we are lucky)
    Ralls £2-£3m
    Pilkington £1.5- £2m
No one £1.5- £2.5m ( by the way I forgot him off my previous list)
    Morrison £2m maybe...
    Doyle £700k
    Whitts £1m ish maybe ?

A lot of the rest we would struggle to get a few for I would guess, or we would have already sold them.

It would be great to get money for Adeyemi, Le Fondre, Macheda, Dikgachoi, Fabio but I'm not confident

Who else would we get a few bob for ?
Moore maybe a few hundred grand, Gunnar...
A lot in the last year of their contract as well

Its more Tan bollox spouted by his boy child who knows nothing about the game. This is the guy who personally oversaw the recruitment of Guerra, iddriss,Zohore, ameobi and Lawrence and is part of the gang of three recruitment committee reporting to Tan. He is a numpty who will keep doing Tans bidding and we will go knowhere

Maybe because Andreas Cornelius plays for FC Copenhagen?

Maybe, but in his heart he's still a bluebird. That never goes away.

What you are ommitting is the loss made on the player. You intimate a possible profit on Whittingham but make no mention of a loss on others. And you conveniently omit half the full squad from your calculations.
If you include 1 person who was pre-slade then shirley you should include them all?

    What are you on about?

He's on about the fees we paid for each member of the squad, just because we bought Whitts in 2007 doesn't mean his fee can't be included in the calculation.

Personally I think £28 mllion was the playing budget for the season, wages et al.

According to your logic he should have included every play ever to play for Cardiff
