Labour are the largest party therefore have the right to have the FM post.

Policy implementation will be on a case by case basis.

isn't the role of first minister the one who has the support of the majority of the legislature? it's how 2nd and 3rd placed parties can form a coalition government.

But many on here believe it. It is OK when it suits and not OK when it doesn't. It is called left wing democracy where I live. (Except the 'left wing' they refer to are actually right wing conservatives. (With a small c))

The issue is Plaid clearly have no interest in a coalition with UKIP and the Tories. The only viable government is Labour led. It's just Plaid getting upset they weren't given more input on Labour's plans before the vote.

Why do they need to learn a lesson? They are by far the largest party. It's up to the other parties to appeal to the Welsh public more

I'm no expert on politics but anything that makes labour realise that they don't have an automatic right to stroll into power in Wales can only be a good thing.

They need the backing of another party that isn't LD to pass a budget. its up to them to get that backing, not the other parties. Now that they've made this attack on plaid about being with ukip and tories, plaid are the only party they can get backing from without being seen as hypocrites. Not such a cheap date now eh. The alternative is that they go it alone and look to pass legislation on a vote by vote basis thereby putting the pressure on Plaid to back them. Plaid are not remotely similar in political outlook to UKIP?
