Do people honestly believe that moaning because they lost will achieve anything?

Both sides were bullshitting - only an idiot thought otherwise.

Some people voted remain because they believed the lies (the world would end if we left) - most voted remain because of their own belief.

Some people voted leave because they believed the lies (we'll have lots of money and no immigrants) - most voted leave because of their own beliefs.

We had a referendum and one side got more votes. As a result we're leaving the EU.

There's not going to be a recount or second referendum. It doesn't matter how many idiots sign some meaningless petition.

It's over. Done. Stop crying like little girls. Get over it and move on.

What a nation of pathetic snivelling Facebook posting sore losers we've become.

To be fair Doctor, it's not a case of crying because they lost, this decision has very real, and very lasting consequences which will affect people for years to come. It's not like a general election where you can vote for the other lot in five years time.

We're still in the EU at the moment, still paying in and still receiving funding. The real impact won't be fully realised for a couple of years yet.

Why haven't they triggered Article 50 yet? Surely they had a plan for this?

Yes there'll be consequences for leaving the eu, just like there would have been very real consequences for staying in an ever closer political union.

The fact is that this political union and its law making powers was implemented through the back door. No doubt in years to come there would have been even more power given to this unelected body.

The people of UK have made their decision and we're leaving. Will it work out for the best? Who knows, but a democratic decision has been made and only time will tell if it will be beneficial to us - just like only time would have told if we'd stayed in.

The fact is that for most people things will just carry on as normal. Politicians will still lie, we'll still go to work, school, etc., we'll still moan about all the things that we always do - football, politicians, the missus, the weather, Croesy etc.

As I said, it's done now.

It's a moot point really as fairly soon you are all going to be thanking your lucky stars that we left the EU.

The lie is in the fact that we don't and never have given the EU £350 million a week though.

You realise that this happening will affect our banks negatively too right?

And that we are currently still in the EU for 2 years until someone starts article 50?

The biggest lie is that the EU was setup to be a "common market", when that was not the intention at all. The destination is full-on political and monetry union, expanding eastwards into Asia and beyond, so maybe it is poetic justice that the misinterpretaion of a sentence is what got us out.

We will escape being forced into an autocratic monetry and political union, and we will recover much faster than the failed EU experiment, which will disintigrate under it's burden of debt

I know a few people who want a second referendum. I disagree with their position but to shoot down any attempt to hold politicians to account is doing the country a disservice. Almost every major political gain in my lifetime has been made on the back of massive lies, policy positions that they knew they couldn't deliver.

The remain campaign tried to fight fear with fear and failed quite spectacularly.

Did you vote leave or remain? I'm on the fence, I didn't vote in what I perceived to be a no-win referendum. It's just a case of which outcome will be the least worst option.

We were promised a post Leave austerity budget. That hasn't happened. Obama told us we'd be "at the back of the queue". The day after the vote he was promising us the special relationship was solid.

Do you really believe people are as stupid as you seem to think they are? You presumably didn't believe everything that was said by either side but you seem to think that the people who voted Leave did. A tad condescending I'd say.

Yeah, remember that clamour for a fresh election after the Lib-Dem's tuition fee lie?

    No nor me.

It all depends if you are trying to manipulate the staging of a second referendum. Some people would sell their grandmothers if they thought it would help to bring it about.

Unfortunately, just like these "enquiries" we occasionally have, they will never really be prosecuted, even if it did make it to court.
That's a forlorn hope. After the Leavers we'll sort out the Remainers whose campaign was based around greed for those who have too much and fear for those who have too little. Cameron's opening salvo: "If you vote to come out it will result in World War 3," was a classic.

Looking on the positive side, it was far better than a war with the alians, which we will no doubt be threatened with if we refuse a 2nd referendum.

But in saying that, Cameron's remain campaign would have made a good Dads Army script.

What about spending £9m of taxpayers' money on a Remain propoganda booklet that was distributed to every home in Britain? And what about extending voter registration by 2 days just because there was a 2 hour downtime period on the government website?

Pots and kettles spring to mind.

I agree. As I said in the OP "Wouldn't it be nice to hold politicians accountable for their lies?"

I don't just mean the leave campaign, I mean all campaigns on all sides. Maybe if these people had some consequences to fear they'd be less likely to make pledges they couldn't back up.

How are any of us supposed to make an informed decision on anything if all we've got is lies and conjecture to guide us?
