A much needed win. We really need the batsmen to be more consistent if we are to finish top four.

With four out of our five games played at home, I think you need to factor in the Cardiff pitch, which hasn’t been great all season, when assessing our batting.

    Re: GLAMMY

It kind of got lost in the collapse as it was happening. But our last 6 overs with the bat have been pivotal. Despite losing wickets we added 50 odd , very similar to what kent did against us. Great win!!

It was very odd tonight Some balls keeping low whilst others flew up.

Great to get down there tonight after 2 long years. Very enjoyable despite the weather.

Yes, it's hard to know what to make of it because they often look like typical slow, low Cardiff pitches and then one will take off a little like it did in that game with Hampshire which got abandoned a few years back - I think the England and Wales Cricket Board will be expecting better pitches for the upcoming international games to be played there.

    Re: GLAMMY

Very good 2 days for Glamorgan qualification chances. The top 3 teams in our group all lose pivotal players from now. They'd have been banking on 2 points in yesterday's games to give them a bit of a cushion. Surrey have seen their last 2 matches abandoned and now lose both currans and Jason Roy. Kent lose Sam Billings and Sussex lose Chris Jordan. Even if we drop points against Somerset tonight, it's still very much game on in terms of qualification

    And your point is?

    Re: GLAMMY

Not a bad outcome for Glamorgan last night all things considered - we usually lose at Taunton in T20 games.

    Re: GLAMMY

Another match abandoned for Glamorgan, this time at Sussex and, given their record so far, it’s not a bad outcome for us, but I think that’s enough rained off games this season for us now.

    Re: GLAMMY

Finish the night 1 point closer to top spot than we started it

    Re: GLAMMY

Glos 216/2 and Glammy struggling at 72/3 in the 7th over. Can’t see them winning this. The bowling was a mix of short and wide stuff coupled with full tosses.

    Re: GLAMMY

Interesting they’ve put Weighell into bat so early, can’t be worse as he’s been with the ball so far I guess!

Why didn't they finish the first section of the county championship and then do the t20 instead of the change of format with only a couple of exciting rounds to go. Very annoying!!

    Re: GLAMMY

This has been a very comfortable win for Glos, The bowling attack is poor but Maynard won’t drop Ingram for Neser and we won’t finish in the top four

    Re: GLAMMY

Inclined to agree, Ingram had that 1 good innings but he doesn't really look in touch this season. The other option would be to get hogan into the side, but he appears to not be available for t20 selection.
Been a bit unlucky with smith getting injured, as he is a very good t20 bowler and has performed in his couple of games this year

    Re: GLAMMY

Have it a go for a while but some silly shots didn’t help. Bowling hasn’t been good this year.

Agree about Smith. Sadly he is injury prone. What’s happened to Carey? Hogan is too old now. He was getting a hit about a bit when he last played T20. Ingram was poor two seasons ago and was surprised he returned this season. I can’t see him coming back next year.

    Re: GLAMMY

Not sure about Carey, he's been in a few championship squads. Not sure if he's injured or not selected. Lloyd is another bowling option that just isn't being used. In his game as captain he bowled himself and bowled very well (admittedly there was lots of cloud cover). Cooke obviously just doesn't rate him

    Re: GLAMMY

Poor night for us results wise. Hampshire and middlesex threw away very strong positions in the last few overs. Meaning Surrey and somerset pull away a little bit.

Must win game against Middlesex on Sunday. Lose that and we may aswell give up for the season.

    Re: GLAMMY

Couldn't make it up. Nick Selman tests positive for covid. Neser and Labushagne identified as close contacts. All 3 out the squad. Neser and labushagne presumably out for another 10 days aswell. T20 season is officially over

    Re: GLAMMY

Got to laugh or you’d cry!

Although I’ve never understood how one player tests positive (cricket, football, etc) wouldn’t mean the entire team, squad, staff, etc wouldn’t be considered contacts?
