    Bolton v Oxford

no thread yet(?) so thought I would start....enjoyable game....good attendance...Oxford looking the more likely at the moment.....forgot they used to be in the old First Division once...before going into non -league.
Still want Bolton to win this though...

Four ex City players for Oxford....plus Cameron Jerome sub for Bolton.

addendum...Fantastic goal by Murphy....! 0-1 was he offside when he got the pass?

Murphy’s always had the ability, think it’s the six inches between his ears that has been the problem.

I think his confidence was destroyed by playing Warnock ball for a few years.
some players really thrive under him, but not everyone

I agree with that. Mark Harris not done much today.....Jerome seems like he has looked after himself...Keiran Brown looks assured and streetwise. Bennet likewise...

Good to see Oxford are NOT sitting back to defend their lead....

I was told by one of the staff that Warnock absolutely belittled him and destroyed his confidence.

It was, he continually derided him and as a sensitive character Murphy took it really badly.

I wouldn't mind the Bolton manager here if Bulut doesn't sign up.
not his best day today obviously though

City castaways, cast too different shores.

Commenters said after Bolton’s win against Barnsley, that they were celebrating too early

    Re: Bolton v Oxford

Bolton are shite. Midway through injury time. Oxford all behind the ball and they are trying to pass it through them. Have to put crosses in the box. This obsession with pass pass pass is crazy. Easy for Oxford.

Probably make up an ex Cardiff side from the promoted sides from league 1 or not far off??

Working and living in Oxford in 86 when they were in the old first division and went to a few games there - good old days of no health and safety and pay on the gate

Also went to a 2-2 game early 80s - might have been the promotion season under ashurst - proper old ground - if I remember rightly it was in a week where we played bournemouth in the league arsenal midweek in the cup and then Oxford on the Saturday - all away so stayed somewhere between and did all 3

4 excellent performances. Murphy got MoM but Sparky, Benny & particularly Ciaron Brown contributed to a well deserved win.

I enjoyed that and it was good to see the former City players doing well
