Thread: GLAMMY

    Re: GLAMMY

Managed to bowl (spun) themselves to victory over Glawster but it’s been a poor showing with the bat hasn’t it. Balbirnie hasn’t had an inspiring start to the campaign.

    Re: GLAMMY

Agreed poor batting so far (apart from Chris Cooke) need to improve to give the bowlers a chance - next up Northants away tomorrow

Reading the report on the Somerset game last night it wasn’t a competitive game, it said Somerset strolled to an embarrassingly easy victory. The batting, Cooke apart, is woeful

    Re: GLAMMY

I suffered through it last night. 133 at Taunton is awful whatever way you look at it. Balbirnie started well but wants to hit every ball for a boundary, Root 5 off 13 opening and 2 players out playing ramp shots. I think Glammy are comfortable batting first and trusting the bowlers to defend the target but you could probably pick the 4 best t20 bowlers in the world and they wouldn't defend 133 at Taunton! They're live on Sky tomorrow aswell

    Re: GLAMMY

So Sky have Glamorgan on live playing T20 tomorrow at exactly the same time as they’re covering Wales - Finland- bit of a clash for general welsh sports enthusiasts

    Re: GLAMMY

Glam passed up good opportunities with bat and ball to beat Northants tonight. One thing I’ve learned about watching 2 sports at once is you end up watching neither.

    Re: GLAMMY

So frustrating the way Northants were skying the ball up into the air and running two - at least one of those chances should have been taken.

Glamorgan let down by their batting again - I'd say their score was forty short of par.

    Re: GLAMMY

160 was poor after the platform the top 3 had given them. I didnt watch the Northants innings but can anyone tell me why Callum Taylor, with his bowling figures, doesn't bowl out after that?

    Re: GLAMMY

Glamorgan actually won a toss and decided to field in their final four day game - Warwickshire currently 23-3 in one of my favourite batsmen Ian Bell's last match;-

live stream again today play starts 1030am on glamorgan website

    Re: GLAMMY

Wicket falls off the first ball I watched - 12-2, I can't see us getting a first innings lead.

    Re: GLAMMY

Thought after the first half hour this morning we had a sniff of a first win.
Within a short space of time the game looks gone and we'll do well to scrape anything from here, currently trailing by 210 with 6 wickets still to get.

    Re: GLAMMY

Why are you calling them GLAMMY???? It is Glamorgan!!!!

  15. #2190

    Re: GLAMMY

Did anyone else watch that crap tonight? Blew a good chance for a win with some crazy batting. Another very disappointing season for Welsh cricket.

    Re: GLAMMY

Yeah, I watched it. Bowlers done well, bats let them down as usual. Some of our shot selection is bizarre and De Lange coming at 5??

    Re: GLAMMY

Big test for Glamorgan's batting today, Northants bowled all out for 98 - I reckon it's 50/50 who'll win at the moment.

Scores level with 7wkts left I'm confident, never in doubt 🤣

David Lloyd, who missed all of our red ball games, got us off to a fast and there was sixty on the board in time at all, but it was hard work after that on a very slow pitch.

Win our remaining three games and we could qualify!

That was never going to happen was it , that was some hammering by Somerset yesterday! It’s so bad it doesn’t even get discussed anymore, I forgot the game was on

Exactly the same as me, I only remembered to check the result about an hour ago - the specialist batting this season has been as weak as at any time in the twenty first century and there's plenty of other sides in contention for that title.

    Re: GLAMMY

Babar was dropped twice (on 10 and 66) on his way to scoring 114 not out, as Maynard (and many others previously) pointed out catches win matches - unlikely but could have been a different result

Yes I saw that but using a football analogy that’s like saying if they hadn’t have scored those 4 goals and we had taken a few of our half chances it could have been a different result - well no sh*t Sherlock

Never mind the missed catches we were bowled out for 117!

    Fair point!

    Re: GLAMMY

This Glamorgan team is the worst in a generation

The team of the late 70’s and 80’s was dire this one is just as bad

Some of the players are no more than club cricketers stealing a living as a professional sportsman
