Thread: GLAMMY

    Re: GLAMMY

Just got home after the game……thought we had a chance especially after getting their bigger hitters out and getting them 18-4. but the 6th over hurt us bad then other than Ingram never got going in the run chase …the fact we didn’t hit a 4 until 7th over said a lot , too many wild swings to hit a 6 …….so disappointing after spending about 3 hours hoping For a game

Such a shame you had to wait for so long for some cricket. Ingram did really well....he was scoring at two a ball. He just didn’t get enough of the strike. The rest were useless.

That Hogan over was the turning point. We have also been giving away overthrows in most games. Carlson has fielded superbly so when he dropped that catch that was a sign it wasn’t to be. Very very disappointing.

    Re: GLAMMY

To be fair to Carlson it was a tough catch, running backwards and white ball against grey sky . I was surprised that Somerset didn’t give Overton 2 overs but what do I know …

He is such a good fielder. I would have expected him to take it.Ingram hit more sixes than the entire Somerset team. He just didn’t have any support.

    Re: GLAMMY

We were ahead after 3 overs but just seemed to get bogged down , ah well…I don’t think an away quarter final at Birmingham or Lancashire would go well !

    Re: GLAMMY

Seven overs a side is no sort of game. I appreciate that both sides wanted a win rather that just a point but they could have just tossed a coin.

    Re: GLAMMY

The batting against Middlesex was amazing, but it was a one off in a season of below average stuff. One of the pleasant surprises of this season is that Colin Ingram is rolling back the years and more than doing his bit for the team in all formats, but, apart from that one game, the support for him has been unreliable and it must be said that Lauschagne's T20 impact was nowhere near what the county must have been hoping for. A shame that Hogan had a bit of a nightmare because, with the possible exception of Neser, he's still clearly Glamorgan's best bowler - we could spend a lot of money on a good overseas replacement for him next season and he would still probably not be as influential as Hogan is.

Worse ways to start a match !!!! Nesers on fire

    Good morning session this!

84-5 at lunch, looks a green pitch, but they often do on the first morning.

Find it slightly odd Australia have moved on from Neser but some result for Glammy he's here all summer.

Hell of a result for us. He is in cracking bowling form. Still think we've only really seen half of him aswell. He's been a genuine all rounder through his career , if his batting clicks he makes us even stronger

    Re: GLAMMY

Shocking start to the first innings this. Lloyd, Harris as a night watchman, and Ingram out for not very much at all. 18-3 in response to 271.

    Re: GLAMMY

Oh dear, 18-3 in reply to Worcestershire’s 271.

    Re: GLAMMY

    32-3 at the close.

    Re: GLAMMY

A month shy of six years this thread has plagued this forum. I'd sooner peruse discussions about verrucas, warts and ingrown toenails than this middle class cricket shite which seems to have become a pretext to plaster corporate adverts on the pitch, its boundaries, the players, umpires and probably the wickets too.

Where's Moggis and his merry men... more to the point, why hasn't this thread been shoed to the Alternative Forum where it belongs?

Agree with all of the above.

Lloyd has had a pretty awful season with the bat. Surprised he's still in a job based on what he's done in all forms of the game.

Lloyd is averaging 25 with the bat and that isn’t close to good enough for an opener. Plus his other regular opener before Byrom was fit was Salter! We have barely had any decent opening stands all season. Lloyd isn’t really an opener and Salter certainly isn’t.

    Re: GLAMMY

38-5. The season is falling away. The feeble batting effort on Friday night has now been followed by this. Very poor. Carlson isn’t progressing in the way I had hoped.

    Re: GLAMMY

114-8, Byrom could end up carrying his bat.

Meanwhile, Eoin Morgan retires from international cricket - he, more than anyone else, transformed how England played one day cricket.

Nearly two hundred more than in their first innings then - Worcestershire haven’t made themselves completely safe from defeat, but, apart from one record breaking stand, our batting has been poor lately.
