I think it's a recognition that streaming four day matches was hardly going to result in a huge loss of income by the counties as the crowds were small in pre streaming days.

The counties are greatly reliant on support from the ECB through things like sale of TV rights and the domestic T20 competition has always been able to attract big crowds, but the advent of the Hundred may mean that this income stream is not as large as it once was.

I listened to a podcast this week which spoke about a report in the Daily Mail I think it was that the Hundred is under threat because IPL franchises are sniffing around with a view to creating a spin off tournament in this country in the same way they've done in South Africa - I think there'd be a big potential audience if a UK version of the IPL was ever created, but I dread to think what the implications would be for the county game.
