Great start ! Lots depends on gil and northeast now.

    Re: GLAMMY

Gill gone.....it’s been coming. At 47/3 we are in real trouble. We will do well to getting any batting points here.

    Pear shaped gone it's!

    Re: GLAMMY

At least with timm and Harris in the side we bat quite deep. Someone needs to stand up and hit a 50

Making a right hash of this. Was it just a bad toss to lose, or just poor batting?

Good bowling with the pitch doing a bit and some rash batting. This is a good bowling attack.

    Re: GLAMMY

108/5. Not great but not terminal. Needs a couple of good partnerships from this point on.

    Re: GLAMMY

Think James Harris needs to rediscover his batting form and Van Der Gugten needs to play as he often has done for us from here because we look a bit England like from eight down and a quick wicket after lunch could see us fold to something like 130. We need a minimum of 200 I reckon.

Harris gone which is a shame as he was doing OK
So 165/7 with a lot resting on Cooke

204/8. Patel doing well. We could do with another hour of him hitting out

Another frustrating innings, everytime it's looked like getting close to parity we've lost another wicket. Ajaz hitting out is giving us some respectability, just a shame someone couldn't have stuck around for a bit.

Yep just when we were clawing our way back into the game a wicket has fallen

They must know how to get the best out of the slope too I suppose.

Yep. The batting was a bit reckless though. Some poor dismissals.
Unless we pick up at least two more wickets today the game will be beyond us

132/4 at stumps so advantage Middlesex. We need early wickets tomorrow morning

    Re: GLAMMY

Definitely a good toss to have won, evidenced by how damp the washing was this morning after leaving it up last night! To be fair, a very good seam attack helps too. Think only two of the dismissals before we got to the tail end were batter’s choices (Gill and Cooke?). Still, a disappointing start to the day.

If only we could’ve held on till lunch with only a couple down as the afternoon session was glorious weather wise and we fared much better with the bat afterwards. Fairplay, we started pulling it back as the evening wore on and Harris probably had his best spell since returning. Nice to see Hogan get a wicket in the flesh for maybe the last time unless I can get down to Hove at the end of the month.

Not a shabby day out for a Monday. Plenty of action, salt beef sandwich from Panzer’s with a glass of wine for lunch, few beers afterwards, and very pleasant weather for the time of year. On it’s day, the championship can be a great day out fairplay.
