    Cymro Cymraeg

Sorry for the post in English, but my Welsh isn't up to scratch.

I watched the highlights of the game last night on S4C after I got back, and was a bit irritated by the commentator introducing Emyr Huws as "Cymro Cymraeg" now I know this means he's a Welsh Speaker, but it comes across as implying that he is somehow more Welsh than say Gareth Bale or am I understanding this wrong?

It's a term used to describe welsh people who speak the language. AFAIK it shouldn't be taken as 'he's more welsh than you'. I certainly don't think of it like that, but come to think of it, it does translate to it. 'the welsh-welshman. hmm

It's means able to speak, rather than iaith gynta/ail iaith
