There was an advert on TV here in China not so long ago - it featured a beautiful Chinese woman and a black man in her kitchen. The woman somehow manages to put the unhappy looking black man in the washing machine, she then adds soap powder, then later, after the wash cycle ... voilà!!! - the black man emerges from the washing machine as a rather handsome looking Chinese man and the woman is all over him.

It later got pulled due to international outrage.

Having lived in Leyton for ten years, I can say that racism certainly exists (in both directions) but I never been beaten up there.
