    Midfield - Nobody's at Home

With Whittingham and O'Keefe constantly dropping back to the centre back position to pick up the ball there is a permanent hole in the midfield. There were so many times when there was an acre of space for the opposition.
When Ralls was replaced by Harris there wasn't a blue shirt in the centre of the park at times.

It takes the player dopping back 'out of the game' they are not available to pass to. One less outlet. Constantly being over-run. At championship level any of the back line should be able to pass forward with a decent level of accuracy.

Being totally dominated when we have 3 in midfield as total crap.

Wouldn't be so bad if the playing the quarterback, was happy to sit back. But Whits can't tackle!

what we needed was a captain on the pitch who would tell O'Keefe and Whitts to move up the pitch and let the centre backs bring the ball up to the halfway line, full backs then pushed up and forwards who makes runs. Connolly did bring the ball up on a few occasions and derby did retreat, now what did the other centre back do, yep pass back to the keep and stand on the 18 yard line!!!! Meanwhile a class centre back and international sat on the bench until coming on as a striker!!!!

    Even my lad spotted that.
Back 4 far too deep and midfield far to close to them with generally 3 or 1 other about 30-40 yards up and a big hole which meant the opposition won all the knock downs and had loads of time to use the gifted ball.
