Thread: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...

Re: The Bluebirds Academy and DVP thread...

The Under 18 game with scheduled for today against Sheffield Wednesday has been postponed, but the under 21s are home to Wolves this afternoon. Kick off is at two o clock, so I presume it's being playing at Leckwith, but it could be at Cardiff City Stadium I suppose - there's no news feature yet on the club website about the match, so it's not clear yet whether it will be streamed or not.

Isn’t there a behind closed doors “in-house match” at the stadium?

Thanks both, I noticed we're away to Wolves next Saturday, so I assume there's some sort of two leg cup tie going on?

One other thing, the under 18s have been drawn away to Grimsby or Crewe in the Third Round of the Youth Cup.

Biancheri’s on the bench today - Morrison and Nelson in the starting lineup, as Isaak.Davies.

Interesting mix of young and old.

Wolves 1-0 up coming up to half time. City having plenty of possession, but not doing a great deal with it.

He had one shot from twenty odd yards that brought a fine save out of a good Wolves keeper and looked more livelier than I would have expected him to be and his replacement Biancheri was also foiled by the goalie.

I’ve found Wolves’ first team to be a dull watch in the last season or two and their under 21s were the same - they scored early on and then seemed happy enough to sit back, despite looking slightly the better team.

Apart from Nelson and Morrison (who went off with about a quarter of an hour left), it was a young City team that all had their moments individually, but there was little sign of a goal from them.

The Wolves match report boasted that their team had an average age of 3 years less than Cardiff! They had already said that Morrison and Nelson were playing - so i would guess there wasn't a lot of difference otherwise?

The u21 is played in groups as explained below

Group stage The tournament will be split into eight groups of four clubs, with each team playing their opposing clubs home and away. The top two teams advance to the knockout stage. Knockout stage The last 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all be one-off knockout ties.
We are in group H, having played 4 of our 6 games winning 2, Reading, Wolves, and Sunderland are the other 3 teams in our group

U21s match against Wolves is off - frozen pitch.
Means Isaak doesn't get the minutes he was supposed to. https://mobile.twitter.com/CF11Acade...13787303018496

They've been drawn away at Exeter or Oxford if they beat Crewe.

Also, the Under 21 game against Sunderland which was called off on Friday has been rearranged for tomorrow, kick off 11 o click at Leckwith - hopefully, this one will be streamed and you'd think Isaak Davies will be involved.

Fair old trek for Sunderland for a morning kick off, unless they’re staying overnight.
