Immense. A leader. Thought he got caught positionally a few times but always recovered. Blocked everything. Once he gets to full match sharpness he might be ok.

Great effort all over the pitch tonight, even Noone and Lambert getting back defending, real captains performance from Morrison, Ralls showing how good he can be, Gunnarsson busting a gut, Bennett and Hoillet showed some class. Bamba was tremendous.

He was the new signing I was concerned about, getting on a bit and we already had a couple of cb's but he was immense

    Re: Sol Bamba

Sol Bamba tonight was the rock AND leader that our defence has been missing for far too long. He marshalled the defensive four so much better than our so-called captain Morrison.Having said that Morrison had a much much better game and appeared to be a good foil for Bamba.

Bamba may be a bit long in the tooth age-wise and it's only one game but frankly after tonight's performance he could prove to be a masterstroke by Warnock.

Great performance all round - can we repeat it on Weds?

Well, what a night and what a performance! And a very good match even for the neutral.

Man of the match, reminded me of Leon Barnett when he was loaned to us.

WAS thinking exactly the same only I'd forgotten his first name so I was thinking 'he reminds me of that Barnett fella'

I kept on eye on him and he didn't stop organising the backline, and encouraging those around him all game. Other more established players like Gunnarsson also stopped for his instruction, which was telling.

EXACTLY what we needed. Great work by Warnock, and indirectly by Tan.

Hugely impressive. Inspirational. Breath-taking at times.
