How is the state (deep. shallow, cavernous or just 'the state') attacking your Boris?

How is the state attacking Leave voters? (not 17.5 million: the Leave figure was 17,410,742 or 51.89% - no need to invent an extra 89,000)

At least half the country is attacking Boris Johnson for what he says and what he does, but the civil service and other parts of the state apparatus are just getting on with whatever job they have been given by this barely functioning government. They are certainly not obstructing him, whatever their personal views.

Maybe you are conflating 'the state' with the legislature and the judiciary - who are making Johnson's life difficult by holding him to account and applying the law?

He's not my Boris he's the creation and love child of every MP who have successfully stalled us leaving Europe and allowed the loon in , mind you it will soon be loon v loon in the next election , such fun.

And then you can have a right strop/moan at the result for the next five years of purgatory.

Having read said definition, I must admit to being somewhat surprised because I had assumed the deep state you're always talking about was a modern day phenomenon, but, if that definition is correct, I must tell you that I studied a play Shakespeare wrote four hundred and twenty years ago in which an equivalent of the deep state was involved for my English A level back in the early seventies.

If what you allege is true, then, of course, it's a huge story, but it strikes me as naive to assume that the sort of thing that may have been plotted against Donald Trump is some sort of first - people have been plotting against their leaders for thousands of years.

Seems to me that the issue is not what Trump said because he has more or less admitted that he has been asking leaders of other countries to dig the dirt on the Bidens and/or undermine the Mueller Report and more about whether what he did merits impeachment.

President Trump is the chief law enforcement officer in the USA, and he has every right to ask Ukraine to look into any historic corruption that targeted the United States. 2020 election interference is a Democrat construct, and the narrative is being pushed by a complient media. If Trump gets impeached over this I will eat my hat.

But even if Trump-Russia has cooled then Trump-Ukraine (with Trump-China in the wings) has really warmed up.
