We are the bore draw specialists and unfortunately with our strike force severely diminished, I can see no better than a stalemate.
Our defence needs to be rock solid and hopefully we might get 'em on the counter.
Not impossible if we lose but unlikely so I'm going for...
9
Backs to the wall 1-1
10 Lose 3-0
I can't see us getting anything out of this game. I'll happily take a draw here and now.
Importance 9
If Ireland beat Austria tonight a win is absolutely essential imo.
2 2

(Head says) 2-0 Serbia
(Heart says) 1-1
You're right, because you have to fancy Serbia to win their other games - Moldova and Georgia at home, Austria away.
Just posted this on another forum:
As it stands, Group E looks like the second place could miss out on the play offs but we won't properly know until the end of game 9. This is why playing for a play off is madness, which Coleman alluded to last night (3 wins, 1 draw = 18 points). It might not be enough.
The current 2nd places are 13, 15, 13, 12, 10, 12, 16, 12, 13
5 of those just need two wins to get to 19 points, the groups on 12 need two wins and one draw. Group E on 10 needs 3 wins.
We can't get to 19, so it's either 4 wins out of 4 or risk for 18 points.
Just realised this post is pointless as the games against the lowest placed team do not count. It means for second place we are currently on 5 points with a maximum of 14 points play for. Though what it does highlight, is Chris Coleman seems to not know the rules himself as 2 wins 1 draw (forgetting Moldova) only takes us to a realistic 12.
Almost every second place at the moment except one are either on 9 or 10 points.
Gutting to concede but can't help feel proud of all the players.
I expected a big loss.
Glad there is still hope with the next game being at home aswell.
