    Won 2-1.

Great result given that they lost the league on goal difference to the Belfast Giants a fortnight ago.

Saw bits flicking between it and the golf. Everytime I turned it on it seemed they were defending a PP. Saw the winning goal which was very well taken.

    Back to back PO wins.

...after 60 league matches. Gutted it was so close. Still, Devils are in Europe again next season. I have been known to go straight down the Bay to watch the Devils after a home match. Just didn't work out well with the way fixtures fell this season so only got to a handful. Today's winner was outstanding. It was either going to be genius or cock up that won it and that was genius.

All the more disappointing that they went to Coventry knowing even an overtime defeat would have sealed the title given that Belfast had finished their fixtures the day before.

They bounced back in the best way possible though and as you say have secured European Hockey for another season although there is a long way to go in that sense.

IF Devils had got the one point needed for the title, would they have bothered defending in OT? Tempting to let Blaze just score (empty net) and get on with the celebrations sooner rather than later knowing at that point the final score is irrelevant. Or is there a rule that says you can't do that?
Winning one European match, home or away, would be an improvement on this season. It's a big step up and adds to the overall toil on players and fixtures.
