Thread: Oh Ingerlund..

  1. #1

    Oh Ingerlund..

    Stupid song but

    Czech 2 - 1 England FT

    is quite funny.

First qualifying defeat in 10 years.

If they had won tonight then they would have qualified for Euro 2020 and their path would have been

    Group games
    Wembley x 3

    Round of 16
    Away

    1/4 final
    Wembley

    Semi final
    Wembley

    Final
    Wembley

It's a disgrace that Cardiff didn't get one game for the finals.

Good to have a laugh at them whilst we can.
Their Raoul Moat looking, Brexit supporting fans do their best to rub it in when the rest of the home nations mess up.

    Nothing short of scandalous!

    Re: Oh Ingerlund..

Considering Euro 2020 was supposed to be about sharing the tournament around to include countries who won’t ever host it on their own it was a joke Cardiff was not included as a venue especially when the likes of Wembley got a number of games.

I always preferred the “Division on is wonderful” version of the song.

well 52% did...there is no we, as 48 percent didn't.
I'm sure the 48% are well pissed off and don't want to be included in your we.

I've probably been as guilty of this as anyone but can we please try not to turn this into a Brexit thread? It's completely unrelated.

It's mad that Wembley's got so many games and Cardiff doesn't have any, especially with all the big events we've staged here successfully. Also it's by far a better location to watch a game in for the fans, I can't think of many better setups than ours with the stadium smack bang in the middle of the city centre

I didn't know England would have had such a run at Wembley. For a tournament that is supposed to be spread over the continent, that's terrible.

Good post Delmbox. What ever happens with Brexit will happen. I’m guilty as well of biting on the subject, but turning most threads down that route will become tiresome.
We had the same scenario with the rebrand a few yrs ago.
Not having one game in Cardiff is both short sightedness and a missed opportunity.

Are you saying the Welsh are more gullible than say Bristolians?

This is ridiculous whilst i appreciate you dont want fans running all over Europe to see games its ridiculous.

Didnt Cardiff get the Champions League final instead of having some Euro2020 games?

Closer to home the Welsh Assembly came into being 20 years ago on a low turnout and a margin on 0.6%...50.3% for and 49.7% against.

Compared to that the Brexit vote is a landslide victory.

That wasn't a vote to trash the economy, suffer food and medicine shortages and remove our freedoms to live, work and travel freely in Europe.

Didn’t know it would be a trade off.
Wembley had the final in 2013 and have another in 2021 (I think).

Bit of scaremongering there. As for medicine shortages, you will have seen the recent press on HRT medicine shortages, caused in large by Europe free movement of goods directive, where medical wholesalers can buy medicines in a low price country like UK and sell them to a higher price country in Europe like Germany..leaving UK patients short. That should stop when we leave, and there is no reason why medicine imports should be a problem post Brexit. By the way the UK is a net exporter of medicines. we sell more to Europe than they do to us

Unfortunately it was a vote for idiots who can’t give the go ahead for 20 miles of motorway bypass

Oh, but we got loads of signage in Welsh, so we won’t forget what country we’re in

    Idiots, the lot of them

A thread dedicated to England's loss to the Czech Republic ends up being about Welsh signage

    Re: Oh Ingerlund..

To be fair, going unbeaten for 10 years in qualifying games is pretty impressive. And there is no shame in losing to the czech rep

That's why we've gotta make the most of it.

And not forgetting double the amount of paper we get chucked through our letterbox because all the info has to be written in two languages while 100% of the population can understand one. These bloody referendums have a lot to answer for.
