So in the last 24 hours the Conservatives have tried to trick the hard of thinking (i.e. their intended base) into believing they are an independent fact checker and have now banned one of the few newspapers who are critical of them from the 'battle bus'.

This doesn't feel quite right to me.

Then you have Priti Patel on the news telling some flabbergasted interviewer that you can't blame the government for poverty, lets put aside whether we are talking about absolute poverty or relative poverty (as this always comes up) and just take a minute to digest that.

Herein lies the problem with the Conservative party these days, if they were in favour of a small state and low taxes I could stomach that as filling a gap in political landscape. Their leader has made a career out of not taking responsibility for anything so it is no real surprise that they want to promise the earth to win elections but then take no responsibility for the outcomes their incompetence inflicts on the people who they are supposed to lead.

They're all self seeking twats Eric. The last man to enter parliament with a good idea and clear intentions was Guy Fawkes.

Actually I think the whole system of democracy is in its last throws and we're getting closer to the tyranny phase of Plato's observations.

That aside, the most intelligent thing we can do in the mean time is vote for whichever bunch of crooks we think will further their own interests in a way which is least harmful to the people and the country.
