Was he though? He never made it to the byline, scored one goal a season then got a new one year longer contract

Didn't Ledley and Ramsey leave in 2009? I know Ramsey came back for 4 games on loan later.

You made a mistake there with Velikonja , he should be in the 1st XI, a goal machine, We could play him in a 4-4-2 with Madine?

Ledley left in 2010 and Ramsey left in 2008

Yes I donít remember Bellamy playing as a striker (if he ever did) so thatís him out and it was a toss up between Chops and Zohore.
Which says a lot about our strikers over the last 10 years when itís a toss up between 1 who had a good 6 months against another who left us 8 years ago.

During the 2010/11 season where Jones had his best squad ever, Bellamy started on the wing. Chopra lost his form after Christmas and Bellamy was pushed up front alongside Bothroyd.

Bellamy started the Reading playoff first leg up front and was injured. Now having to rely on Chopra who was hopelessly out of form and touch filled most City fans with dread. Rightly so. He was garbage when needed in those playoffs, as were most of the team.

Fair point on Bellamy, although I'd have him ahead of Zahore still. Chopra scored 20+ goals in 2009/10 so was in decent form at the start of the decade. The last minute winner against the Jacks was in 2010 which was a pretty memorable goal too. And even though he was a weaker player the following season he still managed more than 10 goals that season. Which, crudely, suggests he scored about the same number of goals as Zahore in the period, but in half the time, while he was at his worst.

Worth noting that McCormack was still just about with us in 2010 as well. (I'm assuming the "decade" here is the 10 years to 31 Dec 2019 hence the timing of the thread).

Also - did we spend much money on any of the players that have made the lists here? Hudson was a big money signing for us at the time; money was spent on Chopra but I think on the whole we were flat on buying/selling him; Manga cost a few million. But no Medel, Caulker, Reid, Cornelius, Glatzel, Cunningham....
