Early look at stats - Harris and Warnock

Just looking at a comparison on whoscored of the last two games of the Warnock era and the first two of Harris' reign.

It's difficult to assess. It would appear that tonight's performance, which I couldn't get to, was a very Warnock-esque performance in terms of possession, where we were at a similar percentage for possession, pass accuracy and long balls played as a normal Warnock performance. The Charlton game was very different - 81% pass accuracy and 11% long balls played was unheard of for several years.

In terms of shots, there's no evidence yet that we are going to be having more attempts on goal. Tonight saw only 7 attempts, which would have been considered low for a Warnock side.

One noticeable difference is our tackling. Against Birmingham and Bristol City we managed 29 and 20 tackles. Our last 2 games saw us attempt 11 and 7 tackles and our tackle success rate is lower.

Another interesting difference is the target area of our passing. Generally under Warnock, around half of our passes were aimed in the final third. Under Harris, more of our passes are aimed in the middle third. We're also playing more backward passes than we did under Warnock. This might explain why our defenders passing accuracy has dropped a little.

Today could simply been about players reverting to type to get a job done as they know how.

This confirms what I wrote on another shed that we played like a Warnock team but without the commitment or aggression.
