Thread: Ten years ago yesterday

    Ten years ago yesterday

...Peter Ridsdale charmed the masses at the Municipal Club in City Road. Fair enough, it's not that momentous but it was in my daily Facebook memory thing so I thought I'd mention it. As it's the anniversary maybe we could send him some Brasso for his neck?

I remember him stating the FA Cup final appearance cost us £500k and would still be interested to see a breakdown of the costs, especially to check if there's an admin fee of £450k to Mrs Ridsdale for booking the train tickets. Happy days.

Could talk his way out of a room with no doors or windows that man.
    Should be a politician.

On reflection, he wasn't. Dare I say it we could do with him now.

I haven’t seen Dai Taxi, Harry Potter and Bobby Windsor for ages - anybody know how they are doing?
We all went away to Norwich when we were only allocated 297 tickets because their stand was being re-developed - We all ended up in Delia’s Kitchen for pre match hospitality (Really long story 🤣) and then in hospitality boxes.
We lost 4-1 with Darren Huckerby ripping us to shreds 😩😩
Peter Thorne scored our consolation goal ⚽️
We ended up staying until the Monday pmsl 😂
The muni brought back happy memories lol 🤩😀👍

He had his pros and cons, of course, but it was interesting to see the spin in action on the night. Most people seemed to go home happy despite some (all?) of what he said being dubious.

He served a purpose at that time, in hindsight, at the time it seemed a bit apocalyptic though

Ridsdale was better than hamman who ruined Wimbledon and nearly killed us off completely
