I would define 'getting it right' in this instance as a government introducing measures and/or restrictions that are proportionate to the problem.

I didn't believe for one second that the Welsh government were doing that in December and I don't believe they are doing that now. It's an absolute farce that City are playing Blackburn in the Championship tomorrow afternoon behind closed doors, while Newport are facing Harrogate in League Two in an empty stadium and Chester have been forced to postpone their National League North game against Brackley Town. Total and utter nonsense. Meanwhile, football and rugby matches will be played without any restrictions throughout the rest of the UK.

If Drakeford and his cronies had anything about them, they would have admitted early in the week that they overreacted to the alleged Omicron 'tsunami' (which was later downgrade to a storm) and relaxed all of their ridiculous restrictions without any further delay. But, of course, they were never going to make such an admission, and instead they're going to drag this nonsense out for another couple of weeks.

Macron apparently refused to take a Russian PCR test to avoid the Ruskies getting a sample of his DNA - hence the 4 metre table treatment! I hope he remembered to use hand sanitiser to clean the table and the chair arms before he left then.

A lack of beds in Welsh hospitals meant it was "inevitable" Covid patients would come into contact with others, a doctor has said.

I don’t think they will , although you may see “footage” of them doing so.

They have apparently a million troops in their own country which they are entitled to do as a show of strength, but I wouldn’t have thought they will invade as it would be disastrous for them -

Has anybody seen any actual footage of their troop buildup as it’s been fairly low key ?

I popped into Waitrose this morning - a bastion of mask wearing.

Last week it was probably 75% with masks, today maybe 30%.

Wait till the War calms down probably November, we'll have a Zulu variant and it will be the most transmissible, virulent virus ever.

    I thought reverse-transcription wasn't supposed to happen?

"Preclinical studies of COVID-19 mRNA vaccine BNT162b2, developed by Pfizer and BioNTech, showed reversible hepatic effects in animals that received the BNT162b2 injection. Furthermore, a recent study showed that SARS-CoV-2 RNA can be reverse-transcribed and integrated into the genome of human cells. In this study, we investigated the effect of BNT162b2 on the human liver cell line Huh7 in vitro. Huh7 cells were exposed to BNT162b2, and quantitative PCR was performed on RNA extracted from the cells."

Re: Coronavirus update - IS THE END IN SIGHT?

    All about Russia Ukraine now.

It's obviously a huge issue but the way the media reporting is sensationalist and entertainment driven seems to be getting worse.

I don't watch much news these days but when it has come on I haven't heard much of anything apart from Ukraine, the storm the week before, covid for 2 years before that. The latter now almost seemingly doesn't exist.
