Pluses and minuses, pros and cons

This deadly virus as thrown the country into completely uncharted areas and life as we nkow it has been disrupted in ways no one would have believed 6 months ago.
But there are lots of things that have happened as a result of the steps taken (side effects) which couldn't have been forseen, some good some bad. Which is which might depend on your outlook.

    GOOD:
    Increase in neighbourliness
Reduction in polutants in the air all over the world
Reduction in fuel prices (together with the OPEC in-fighting)
    Cleaner rivers and seas
Reduction in many kinds of crime
Pigeons not getting fed in the town centre (See below)
Reduction in traffic makes cycling safer

    BAD:
    Loss of income/jobs affecting families
50 million pints of beer rotting in Pub cellars
Pigeons not getting fed in the town centre (See above)
Loss of revenue for businesses and tourist areas

Can you add to the list. Remember it is subjective.

    Good
the Government have tired hard to bail out the citizens, with Furloughing etc.
Some people will have learned from that and may save for their future
People are exercising more, people who haven't walked for twenty years are taking a walk

Not if Greta Thunberg has her way ! This has been a godsend for her. She's probably torn between disappointment that she's no longer front page news and delight that pollution has been slashed virtually overnight. It does make you wonder though whether this is nature's way of a saying enough's enough, I'm going to intervene as you lot can't be trusted not to ruin the planet.

I did qualify this with reagrd to the tragedy of the deaths, but I suppose someone had to bring it up again. We all understand this but somke people try to look on the bright side, and hope things will be better.

Or maybe the mutations that caused us to be created in the first place are still taking place in other organisms.

Increase in neighbourliness? Definitely not what it was post war, definitely more appreciation of NHS and key delivery personnel, but neighbourliness, I don’t think so .

I really wonder how many clubs will survive this if you can’t have mass gatherings until a vaccine comes along
