Saw Saxon at Stafford Bingley Hall, supporting Motorhead around 1980x
They were brilliant, of course, but at the end of the set the guitarist went to smash his guitar on the speaker, but the pyrotechnics guy got his timing wrong and the speaker “exploded” just before contact was made! 😄😄

Oh, and my mate and I were deaf for about five days after that gig. I think Motörhead broke the indoor sound record or something.

Motorhead the only heavy metal band i have seen live . haven't got the best hearing and had ringing in my ears ages after . think i blame them for my tinnitus today !
