It always makes my blood boil when I hear Brian May pontificating on animal rights, shame he didn’t have the same concerns for millions of South Africans.

But a lot of people went there when apartheid was the accepted status quo (Excuse the musical pun) so it wasn't seen as so bad as it is now in hindsight.
Plus of course there were parts of the USA that in reality weren't much better but still accepted.

When was this time? The time when apartheid was seen as OK? When a world pariah state based on institutionalised racism was just the way it is? When artistes without the benefit of hindsight should be cut a bit of slack for chasing the rand when they couldn't (really couldn't) have known better? Really?

When they were still playing international sport when their government was still recognised all over the world. You may not like it but it was so and all the outrage in the world won't change it.

The musicians union made it clear they fell in line with un sanction directives . Those that played knew exactly what they were doing . They were propping up apartheid.

To be fair to Ray, his manager probably told him he was playing in London

Did they? So why didn't the remove their musicians union accreditation, then they wouldn't have been able to play anywhere else?

You're becoming the Victor Meldrew of CCMB!

I realise you're frustrated by the dearth of boilers at secluded laybys and car parks for you to arse end, but come on, stop moaning.

Invite that piece with the wonky eye who used to work at the butcher's around for a game of nude Monopoly.

The UN blacklisted Queen for playing there and the anti-apartheid movement was well underway, Sun City was built in 1979 and negotiations to end apartheid began just 11 years later.

Is that the same queen who sang the signature song for the Barcelona olympics in 1992?
