I'm old enough to remember when we were called "the sick man of Europe". Well, with some European countries beginning to reopen their borders, but making a point not to extend that invitation to the UK and the highest number of virus deaths in the continent (remember those innocent days when we used to look pityingly at Italy and Spain and mutter "it could never happen here"), we've certainly regained that crown in terms of physical health and, although it's still early days to make concrete judgements, there are signs that we may be on to get the same award when it comes to financial health. Still, Johnson is proud of our response to the crisis and he is trying his best.
