I could never work out why radios with wires were referred to as wirelesses.

Reading other people's posts doesn't make yours any more intelligible.

The first radio transmissions were called "wireless telegraphy"

If any thread describes the mind set of this MB, then this is it. Me personally, i can see humour in most things, even in death, but if anyone had attempted a funny comment in the Peter Whittingham or George Floyds threads, the self appointed morality gang on here (which has many members) would be putting their kicking boots on in unison.

Has there ever been a real bluebird over the white cliffs of Dover?

    RIP.

Comparing the peaceful death of a 103 year old who was surrounded by family to an awful tragedy of the death of a 35 year old and the alleged murder of someone due to racism seems odd to me.

I take your point about a supposed lack of respect but aren’t you just being a bit of a snowflake about this?

    “A supposed lack of respect”.
Thats it in a nut shell. A tragic death or a natural death through old age, is still a sombre moment.
My point is, who decides on here which one you can joke about?

I just looked it up aswell. The writer didn't know that the bluebird wasn't indigenous to Britain.

    Nobody should.

There is though “sombre moments” and absolute tragedies and misjustices.

Give it time and someone, somewhere will find humour in the George Floyd thing to even it all out.

    It's quite pathetic

She was 103 , quite rightly was lauded by everyone and lived a long and peaceful life till her death at 103

Black men in america are murdered by police officers in the prime of their life

    Huge huge difference

Indeed , terrible shame that a dear old lady who did so much has passed away but she was 103

Absolute disgrace that only a few days ago a black man was shot in the back in cold blood

If people cant see the difference I will put them in touch with my psychiatrist
