    Carpet Fitting DIY

had to take up a couple of carpets, landing, bedrooms. Rolled back now but need fitting back. Was thinking of getting a kicker from Screwfix - only £40 and prob. what a fitter would charge if I could get one to come out. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these and how easy a job is it. Thanks.

Why would you need a kicker if the carpets were laid correctly? If you've not damaged the gripper you should be able to put back securely.

The Stanley is to use when you get so fcuking frustrated with trying to get the damn thing to fit and the grippers to grip that you run out into the street in a red mist and attack the first person you vaguely see through the fog!!

Save £40, get a piece of wood about 3 inches wide (not to thick) and put a few screws through it, leaving about three quarters of an inch going through.
Use this to push the carpet, not to hard, as you don’t want the screws to damage the carpet

C’mon, you’d never get a few dinosaurs in a 3 inch wide piece of timber.
