Your reference to the war was very apt I thought. It is definitely worth comparing the situation then with what we are experiencing today. My parents lived through the war as adults and I think they would definitely have labelled some of us as snowflakes when we complain that we cannot get our favourite brand of baked beans or are limited to two of everything! My grandparents dug up a lot of their garden to grow their own fruit and veg. Rationing was the norm and when you look up the daily allowances at the time, no wonder obesity was not an issue! In today's world of instant communication it is hard to imagine that my mother did not hear from my father for weeks/months on end, only receiving the very occasional letter, as he made his way across North Africa, Italy and Austria with the British 8th Army.

sounds like a schoolmaster wagging his cane at naughty boys.

But if he does use it as an excuse to keep everyone penned up it will get much worse!!
    So what's the answer?

The dozens of females screaming always adds to the occasion in these types of video.

I meant people in general always bring the war up as a comparison to situations we have in the present day.

I thought a man of your intelligence would pick up on that, and reply to the post, not the poster, like a pathetic child.

Sorry Dembe if i offended you.
I think WW2 was the last time the Human race (those that were lucky enough to survive it) got a chance to take stock, and reboot.
This Covid 19 pandemic was another chance. Many will probably re assess there lives, but on the whole i feel it will be a chance missed.

The people of the F.R.Y, Iraq, Rwanda, Yemen, Sierra Leone, Northern Ireland etc, may disagree with your assessment.

    Alleged true story

Prince Charlie was opening something up around Merthyr and was being introduced to a line of the local good and great.
He arrived at one particular chap and noting the chaps rather county looking jacket asked where he was from.

“The Gurnos Estate sir” came the reply

“ Oh really “ says Charlie taking a bit of an interest

“ What’s the shooting like up there ?” Charlie asks

    “Sparodic” came the reply

That reminds me of a fella I knew up in the N East. I was in the pub early doors one day and Jimmy was already at the bar. He wasn't the best educated man you ever met but he really amused me that morning. He said he'd been up all night and he was knackered. I asked him why and he said, "we've been out poaching." I assumed rabbits game birds or trout so I said if he had any spare I'd have a brace from him.
He said, "What? What are you going to do with 2 whole sheep!" I pointed out that stealing sheep wasn't paoahing it was rustling and with out batting an eyelid he humpfed and said "Semantics!"
I laughed so hard I nearly spilled my beer.!!

Then again, they may not. How would you ever live that down?
